FORTRESS: The Pentagon is preparing every major U.S. military base to survive 90 days without outside support — no civilian power grid, no global supply chains, no outside fuel or water.
The initiative, revealed in documents reviewed by Fox News Digital, envisions portable nuclear reactors, massive battery storage, and microgrids that can disconnect installations from civilian electricity entirely. Strategic reserves of munitions, fuel, critical minerals, and medical supplies would be stockpiled based on wartime consumption rates. Civilian factories are being pre-identified to shift to defense production during a crisis.
Pentagon chief spokesperson Sean Parnell put it bluntly: "Power is combat now. Without electricity, you lose communications, water, logistics, assembly lines and just basic military command structures."

Effective October 23, 2026, the Department of State ordered non-emergency U.S. government employees and U.S. government employee family members to leave Saudi Arabia due to safety risks.
Iranian-supported Houthis have engaged in hostilities against Saudi Arabia, including attacks on civilian airports and other critical infrastructure resulting in civilian casualties and severe travel disruptions. The hostilities have the potential to escalate rapidly beyond that immediate area.
U.S. government employees working in Saudi Arabia require special authorization from Chief of Mission to use any airport in Saudi Arabia following recent missile and UAV attacks on airports in the Kingdom.
King Khalid International Airport (RUH) in Riyadh announced a partial reopening as of October 25 for domestic flights and some international flights operated by national carriers. A limited number of flights normally based at RUH are operating out of Qassim-based Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz International Airport (ELQ).
Operations at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah (JED) are operational with some delays and cancellations.
Operations at King Fahd International Airport in Dammam (DMM) are operational with some delays and cancellations.

Did you know Florida’s Sea Level has varied ~480 Feet over the past 500K years?! It’s true!
Due to ice ages, every 100,000+ years ice freezes and melts in natural cycles driven by Earth’s oscillating Orbit & Tilt and the changes in absorbed sun. This causes huge swings in sea level. 400K years ago, when the ice caps melted, water rushed into the ocean raising sea level 52 feet higher than today - flooding Florida. Then 24K years ago, with water trapped in miles of frozen ice in the ice caps, the sea was 427 feet lower. Florida was 2X its current size and to hit the beach you’d have to walk 130 miles west of #Tampa Bay! This back and forth is why Florida’s bedrock is made from limestone. At many points in its history #Florida was a shallow sea and #coral reef. 🪸
