Ditto! We did the same thing.
South African builders please take note 👀
Vibe coders need to take the business basics more seriously to build a real business.
I found a platform, obviously vibe coded, that looks really cool and solves a direct problem we have... but there's no real business behind it.
I can't see who built it. There's no legal entity. I can't see what country they're in. Where data is hosted.
Even if the platform does everything I want, I can't use it.
Honestly, a shame.
We are seeing a lot more “for US users…” launches from @OpenAI and @claudeai. How disappointing. Now I know how the EU people feel.
Day 24/ Text your dot just like anyone else. Makes it super easy to share/forward things, leave it voice notes or you can even go creative with "Hey Siri, text Iggy to <INSERT WILD REQUEST>" and sit back and relax.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Texting your dot is a preview for ChatGPT Pro users in the US only. It is not available on Plus plans.

Now that versionone.co.za is live, our biggest challenge will be making sure the builders who have uploaded their applications on the site get their work seen and supported.
It is no easy feat.
However it is something I will champion.
This is amazing!

So true , that’s how we got 500 visits for clxr, from theopenletter.io/p/clxr-bond…
I meant the testing requirement 😅
New personal Google Play accounts need 12 testers opted in for 14 days before applying for production access.
Apple's docs don't set that minimum, but apps still go through App Review.

I'm all over. I built WannaSend, a cross-platform p2p parcel delivery app, then I launched my own startup for mobile app development, web dev & custom software. platforms.zconsol.co.za
When an AI answer looks right, ask it what could be wrong with it. Then check that part yourself. It takes a minute and catches a lot.
Derick Venter in Plettenberg Bay is building SimplifAId, an email assistant. Derick wants 10 South African small business owners to try it free for 14 days and say what to build next. It needs a Claude Pro plan.
If that's you: versionone.co.za/derick-vent…
Before you ship: can someone who has never seen it understand what it does in ten seconds? If not, fix that before you add another feature.

Version One launched on Monday. Now comes the part after putting it online.
Cloudflare shows about 5.8k pageviews and 3.4k visits over the last seven days, checked on 27 October.
Not 3,400 people. Crawlers and scripts are in those numbers too.
After the homepage, the builders, join and shipped pages had the most pageviews. An early signal, not proof that anyone has found a customer yet.
Getting seen is the start. The next job is giving someone a reason to try what you've built, then come back.

1/ Version One is live.
South African builders, you aren't alone. This is a home for your work to be seen and for people to find each other.
