Great fun spotting opera's most famous Masked Singer @Doctor_Opera in the company of Der Rosenkavalier last night. At first I was worried when I couldn't see his medical scrubs but then I twigged. @GarsingtonOpera

The government told us they “pushed for a more ambitious agreement which would have covered musicians and others, but our proposals were rejected by the EU” but turns out this is not true. Musicians and the cultural health of our country had been cast aside.

Having been a musician in my earlier days and had the phenomenal opportunity to play in places like Carnegie Hall and Sydney Opera House. I can’t stress how detrimental this is to the UK music industry. This government is killing every facet of society. independent.co.uk/news/uk/po…

“It is usually in our agreements with third countries that [work] visas are not required for musicians. We tried to include it, but the UK said no.” I'm sure @OliverDowden will welcome an early chance to correct this. Over to you, Secretary of State. #ThrumsFingers

I shall be asking the Government why this reciprocal offer on touring musicians was not revealed, why it was turned down and how the Government proposes to remedy the plight of 1000s of artists, crews and musicians whose already fragile livelihood will be still further harmed?

Had the pleasure of listening to some beautiful opera singing by @Doctor_Opera. Alex was invited by a neighbour and Barnes was treated to a unique experience of "Opera-by-the-river" on the streets of Barnes. His warm and strong voice elevated our spirits. Thank you @Doctor_Opera

For me, the real story about the Proms is not the Last Night but the fact that 70 uplifting, good-natured, multi-genre concerts are not happening, and innumerable musicians are not performing.
