1. My top imaging trick to trainees is that before they spend any time taking pictures of the data they just sit there for a while & look at the stuff. Like seriously, sit back, crank some tunes, get cozy & spend some quality time with your slides.

Super interesting! Whenever I'm training on a system with a far-red filter I always get the trainee to look just in case but hadn't yet found anyone who could see it. They do exist though, I need to keep trying!

Actually, I have a student that can see fluorescence emitted by miRFP670. Two other people cannot see it. It needs a larger cohort, but it's quite intriguing....
