The Lazy Lions recovery, and why OpenSea chose stolen goods over collectors On September 25, 149 Lazy Lions were stolen in the Limit Break exploit. Today 103 of them are safe. 73 are back in our recovery wallet, 23 were rescued by 0xQuit and are waiting for their owners to claim them at nftsaresafu.xyz, and 7 are already home with their original holders. Most of the Lions in our wallet came back because buyers who picked up a stolen Lion without knowing it chose to do the right thing, swapping it for a clean Lion, taking a buyback at the price they paid, or donating it back. To every one of you who did that, thank you. Returns to the original holders are next, so if you lost a Lion, file at lazylionsnft.com/recovery and revoke your Payment Processor V2 approval at revoke.cash before anything is sent. @OpenSea made a choice here. We sent them multiple detailed requests with onchain proof for every stolen Lion, including the theft transaction, the original holder and the current holder for each one, and asked them to keep the stolen flags on until every Lion was home. On October 14 they removed the flags on 46 stolen Lions anyway, and stolen Lions were listed for sale on their marketplace the same day. @OpenSea takes a cut of every one of those sales. A platform that does that is anti-collector, and its actions show it would rather traffic in stolen goods than protect the people who collect. So here is how it works from now on. If you bought a stolen Lion to flip it, I will not restore the art and I will not buy it back, and the stolen notice stays on that Lion for good. The people running bots to extract money from stolen goods are no better than the people who stole these Lions in the first place, and the bots are done extracting from my community. If you are a collector and a stolen Lion gets dumped into your offer, you are not who I am talking about. Fill out the form at lazylionsnft.com/recovery and choose Lion for a Lion, and once we have that stolen Lion back I will look at getting you a replacement. Roast me if you want, but I have the resolve to take something to zero and build it back up, and not many people can say that. If you think you can take advantage of my community, you have underestimated me. I am built different, scammers never win, and actions have consequences. We will keep going until every stolen Lion is home, with or without the platforms that profit from them. Inaction has consequences and once again Opensea showed their true colors! Encourage other founders to call them out for trafficking and profiting from stolen goods, and I will do everything in my power to punish them for this.

One of my favorite things to do is provide historical perspective @splinterlands This shot is from may of 2019 featuring the original SplinterStorm skin set for alpha. Let me tell you: NO ONE cared about skins in those days. As you can see here you could get every single skin for 50% off to complete the set which would be 25K DEC. Still, almost no one bought these skins at the time. For years these skins were available as the game moved on you could still buy them up until just a couple years ago. Inventory just sat on the shelf. It is a thrill to watch people complain today about not getting the skins they want. Not because i dont want all Splinterlands players to be happy, but because this is another product category that came back from the absolute dead. Now players complain about not getting skins is such a dramatic change from the times where no cared AT ALL about them. Leave it to Splinterlands to create value through the dogged determination of the team and the inspired creativity of its leaders. Skins are now IN!

Imagine thinking you're going to prey on Lazy Lion holders by buying their stolen assets and listing them for a profit knowing a lot will try to buy them back because they love their lions. Then imagine I brick the artwork and traits so we can recover them. Make no mistake - Changing artwork/metadata was not an easy decision. But this was an unusual case. If we can't trust one of the top 3 Marketplaces, what the fuck are we doing in NFTs. If I sat back and watched as my holders get hurt and bleed, and then watch people prey upon that and did NOTHING. I'd have to ask myself why the fuck am I even an owner of Lazy Lions for? Make no mistake. If you intend to hurt Lions. I have no problems hurting you back. If you're wondering why other teams aren't fighting for their holders like we are. Maybe they don't care about their holders, like we do. If you see these in a marketplace, do not buy.
