Okay, but Wales is starting significantly further back than Scotland and Northern Ireland, so that needs rectifying first before we move off at the "same pace".

For the longest time, I had felt more and more disengaged from my former party. It was clear that my interests and the politics that I believed in for Wales were better represented by Plaid Cymru, and that is not just on Welsh independence✍️Rachel Garrick wp.me/p8Mk4U-1we3

Too many people whinging about James Acaster, but more respect needs to be given to Michael Sheen who had the traitors on toast. He was relentless, persuasive & logical. One of the best faithful performances I've seen & he came into the roundtable with heat!

The shamelessness of this when they have only just lost power in Wales. To pretend they care about further devolution within Wales (which Plaid was always much keener on anyway). This ploy by UK Labour to block further devo to Wales is so obvious we can all see it.
Replying to @SKinnock
Devolution was never intended to stop at Cardiff Bay - and we risk Wales soon becoming the most centralised nation in the UK. Whilst we recognise it’s for Welsh Government to determine how local govt works in Wales, we’re offering to work in partnership to unlock Wales' potential

This might be acceptable if all the nations were at the same level, but they are not. Wales is way behind and England decides the budgets of the other 3.

Burnham cannot simply impose his own agenda. He needs to listen to the voices of Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

The people of Wales voted overwhelmingly for parties in favour of further devolution.
The Senedd, overall, has a mandate for more devolved powers. The UK Government is ignoring the people of Wales

Wales' First Minister Rhun ap Iorwerth has said that he and Prime Minister Andy Burnham have reached an "encouraging consensus" regarding the fact Wales has worse deal when it comes to funding and our ability to borrow compared to Scotland and that is needs to be "revised as a matter of urgency".
In a statement the First Minister said:
"I was pleased to meet with the Prime Minister in Glasgow today where I once again pressed the need for Wales and the Welsh Government to have the necessary tools to better serve our communities.
"I also reiterated the point that further devolution within Wales is a matter for the Senedd and only the Senedd.
"There was an encouraging consensus that the fiscal and borrowing powers which have for so long put Wales at a disadvantage compared with other UK nations must be revised as a matter of urgency. I welcome the Prime Minister’s comments that this is now a matter of how and when.
"On rail funding, I was pleased to hear the Prime Minister’s personal commitment to look at the £14bn pledge, and I also raised the need for the Treasury to act with urgency to enable the Welsh Government to press ahead with our Cynnal weekly child payment pilot to support the poorest families.
"On Europe, I offered the Prime Minister my full support in pushing for a stronger relationship with the EU, urging him to go further and pursue rejoining the single market and customs union as a priority."

I personally dont see anything wrong with this post. Barnett consequentials are non-hypothecated, so the Welsh Gov has chosen to copy the English offer. They got grief when they previously didnt copy England on ALN, so they cant really win either way.

The £100 payment for Welsh households follows UK Chancellor John Healey's Budget announcement of the policy for England, with equivalent funding provided to Wales via the Barnett formula; the Plaid Cymru-led Welsh government is passing it on.

All increases in money the Welsh Gov gets are from Barnett consequentials. Are we seriously saying that they can only claim credit for spending decisions that differ from those in England? If we copy UK Gov policies Welsh Gov cant claim them? Think about where that leads.

Not really a big win when Leeds station got £300M.
Wales has 10% of the UK’s rail network, but has received just 1.5% of total rail investment over the past 15 years.
Labour needs to deliver a fair deal for Wales. We deserve our fair share of investment, not to be left behind.
