The future of the Democratic Party is not John Bel Edwards (or Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer). The future is Jamie Davis, Scott Colom, Gina Hinojosa, James Talarico, Annie Andrews, and Jon Ossoff. I said what I said. Plan accordingly. #LaGov #LaLege #Louisiana

Gary Chambers, of Louisiana, deserves recognition for the years he has been organizing and advocating for the Black community to exercise their democratic right to vote and self determination. In this political moment Stacey Abrams , Charles Blow, Roland Martin, Senate candidate Angie Nixon have been recognized for engaging the Black vote in the South which was the catalyst of this “Blue” wave. Add this man’s name to the list who is carrying the legacy of the Civil Rights movement in Louisiana. Thank you @GaryChambersJr We still have work to do!!! In honor of the blood on that ballot box. Downballot: Jamie Davis (D) is considering bid for Louisiana Governor in 2027
After coming shockingly close to winning Tuesday’s U.S. Senate race, the Louisiana Democrat is now talking about challenging the state’s Republican governor next year

If you can’t stand living alongside people of different races, religions, and backgrounds, what makes you think you’ll enjoy heaven?

I've been in politics for a quarter century. It's hard to express how staggering it is to see a conversation like this on corporate US media. The Morning Joe panel gobsmacked by the directness of @AbdulElSayed's points.

Too radical. Too boring. Too country. Which flavor of Black is good enough to get funded?
Every time a Black candidate runs statewide in Louisiana, somebody has an excuse for why they can’t win. Meanwhile, the grassroots are doing the work while the people with the resources sit on the sidelines.
@jamieforlouisiana showed Louisiana what’s possible without the support he deserved. Imagine what could happen if we invested in the South before Election Day instead of making excuses afterward.
I told @joyannreid, we don’t have to wait on the Democratic Party. We have to organize, invest, and hold our own leadership accountable.
The South doesn’t lack voters. It lacks investment.
Share if you care. 🦾
