Yesterday, I went from 25 to 145 followers on here. Honestly, I didn't expect that! 😅 I'm a software developer learning to build AI-powered products, and I'm looking to #connect with more people on this journey. If you're into : 💻tech 🌐software engineering 🤖AI/ML 🎨 Design 🧱building products or 📚just learning and figuring things out as you go, let's #connect. What are you currently working on? I'd love to hear about it. 🤝

Congratulations boss 🎉 Keep up the good work!!
After 5 years of building @AltSchoolAfrica with @AdewaleYusuf_ and @opeawo, today I’m officially stepping down as CTO and moving into the CEO role. The goal is to provide global education to Africans at an affordable cost. Instead of going to the UK and spending £30,000 to get a degree, you can attend the same university through AltSchool for less than £15,000. Same school, same lecturers, same BSc. Equal value. Equal access. Local pricing. I’m officially launching our degree programmes on degree.altschoolafrica.com, and over the next few months, you’ll see more global universities join the AltSchool network. Welcome to the edX of Africa.

Same with PHP... Now coding 🤷🏽
People have been claiming that books are dead for centuries: "The printed book is made of paper and, like paper, will quickly disappear.” –Johannes Trithemius (1492) "The newspaper is killing the book." –Théophile Gautier (1835) "Books will soon be obsolete." –Thomas Edison (1913) "The fact is that people don’t read anymore." –Steve Jobs (2008) "Books will not exist in about five years." –Nicholas Negroponte (MIT Media Lab co-founder, 2010) "The end of reading is here." –The Atlantic (2026) And yet, people are still reading books, and the global book market is expected to grow 5% annually for the next several years.

I'm looking to connect with techies who are building things, experimenting with AI, and documenting their progress. If you're building something interesting, what are you working on right now? Let's connect. 🤝

One trap I'm trying to avoid as a developer is confusing consuming information with making progress. Watching tutorials feels productive. Reading documentation feels productive. Saving courses feels productive. But eventually, you have to sit down, build something, make mistakes, and figure out why it doesn't work. I'm trying to spend more time applying what I learn and less time collecting things I intend to learn.

I've been quiet on here for a while. But one thing I'm learning is that you don't have to have everything figured out before you start sharing your journey. I'm a software developer working on getting better at building real products, exploring AI integrations, and understanding the engineering behind the software I create. I also like to connect with people of like minds I'll be sharing more of what I build, what I learn, the bugs I run into, and the mistakes I make along the way. Back to building in public. 🚀

Education isn’t about knowing everything. It’s about understanding that there is always more to learn and discover.

10 AI tools nobody told you about: 1.) Napkin AI (napkin.ai): paste any text and it turns it into clean diagrams and visuals 2.) Granola (granola.ai): takes meeting notes without a bot joining your call 3.) Elicit (elicit.com): searches research papers and pulls the key findings into a table 4.) Consensus (consensus.app): answers questions with citations from peer-reviewed studies only 5.) Julius AI (julius.ai): upload a spreadsheet and ask questions about your data in plain English 6.) Exa (exa.ai): a search engine built for AI that finds pages by meaning, not keywords 7.) Firecrawl (firecrawl.dev): turns any website into clean, LLM-ready markdown 8.) Recraft (recraft.ai): generates vector graphics and brand-consistent icons you can actually edit 9.) Krea (krea.ai): real-time AI image generation that updates as you sketch 10.) tldraw (tldraw.com): draw a UI wireframe and turn it into working code Most people are still only using ChatGPT. Bookmark this. Which one did you not know about?

Give it a trial.... you never know 🤷🏽
Anthropic will pay you $3,850 a week to do AI research with their team. You don't need prior experience to apply. The Anthropic Fellows Program: • $3,850/week (about $66K over 4 months) • About $15K/month in compute, paid for • Mentored by Anthropic researchers • 4 months full-time, with a chance to extend • The goal is a real public output, like a published paper Their words: "regardless of previous experience." The deadline for the January cohort is Oct 18. That's 6 days away. Most people will see this after it closes. Bookmark it and send it to the smartest person you know. Imagine your payment API works perfectly during testing(it usually does). Then, in production: A customer clicks Pay twice. A webhook arrives three times. The payment provider times out. A transaction succeeds, but your database update fails. What happens next?

Do you know that there are simple infrastructure configurations you can set up today that will help your application handle growth without writing a lot of extra code? For instance, with Cloudflare, you can enable: CDN and Caching: Serve static assets from locations closer to your users, reducing latency and the load on your origin server. DDoS Protection: Help protect your application from malicious traffic intended to overwhelm your infrastructure. Rate Limiting: Control how frequently clients can hit your endpoints to reduce abuse and protect your backend resources. WAF (Web Application Firewall): Filter suspicious requests and block common web attack patterns before they reach your application. Now, if you’re deploying on platforms like AWS, Vercel, or Render, there are also infrastructure capabilities you can take advantage of. AWS Auto Scaling: Automatically add or remove compute capacity based on demand. AWS Application Load Balancer: Distribute incoming traffic across multiple healthy targets. Vercel Edge Network and Caching: Deliver supported content closer to users and reduce unnecessary requests to your application. Render Autoscaling: Automatically scale supported services based on traffic and resource demand. The interesting thing is that much of this infrastructure already exists. In many cases, you don’t need to build everything from scratch. You need to understand what your platform offers, configure it correctly, and know when to use each capability. Of course, these configurations don’t replace good application design. Database bottlenecks, inefficient queries, memory leaks, and poorly designed background jobs can still become problems as traffic grows. But before writing hundreds of lines of code to solve one scaling problem, first ask yourself: Does my infrastructure already have a solution for this?

Things we love to see ❤️🥂
You remember Joy Ezeugwu? the young girl who was expelled from her school in Enugu for exposing the deplorable state of Uwani General Hospital? She started at her new school today. Interestingly, her new school is also her dream university.
