We know how difficult it is to wait for your power to come back on. Even if you can’t see our crews, please know they’re still working to restore service. Many are navigating hard-to-reach areas and challenging conditions to safely bring power back to our communities.
Thank you for your patience as our crews continue working to get the lights back on.
As of 1:30 p.m., less than 48 hours after Hurricane Isaias made landfall in the Florida Panhandle as a Category 2 hurricane, electric companies had restored power to nearly 580,000 customers in the impacted areas after outages peaked at 950,000.
More than 25,000 workers from at least 25 states provided mutual assistance to electric companies in affected areas, mobilizing crews and resources where they were needed most. Investments in smart grid technologies helped EEI’s member companies identify issues and reroute power when possible, helping reduce outage times.

ALT As soon as it's safe to begin working, our crews start turning the lights back on for our customers. Restoration efforts begin as scouts start assessing the storm\u2019s damage, and crews start needed repairs at the source and work outward. Certain types of work, such as repairs requiring the use of bucket trucks, cannot be safely completed when winds exceed 30 miles per hour.
