True localisation means more than shifting funds, it’s about centring the voices, agency and leadership of communities most affected by crises. Let’s move beyond tokenism and ensure local actors shape decisions that impact their lives.

What we often fail to acknowledge is that the biggest resistance to localization is not external—it is internal. It exists within our own organizations.

🌍Bringing All 14 Co-Conveners Together; Lessons Learned & Priorities for Action
Today marks a special moment in our Local Leadership Labs (LLL) journey. After a full month of community co-creation workshops across the country, we are now meeting with all 14 of our co-conveners to reflect, learn, and chart a collective path forward.
In this session, we are focusing on “Lessons Learnt and Prioritization for Action.”
Each co-convener brings rich insights from their regions, stories of community leadership, challenges voiced at the grassroots, and the powerful solutions communities themselves proposed. This gathering is our opportunity to listen to each other, connect the dots, strengthen what worked well, and identify the actions we must prioritize together as we move into the next phase of locally led development.
With continued support from the @CIVICUSalliance this space allows us to lift local voices even higher and align our efforts for deeper impact across Uganda.
Here’s to shared learning, unlearning, stronger partnerships, and a united commitment to community-driven change.

🌿 Starting Today’s Co-Creation Workshop in Egara B, Arua City!
Today, we are in Egara B, Ombavu Parish, Arivu Sub County, continuing our Local Leadership Labs journey of strengthening locally led development across the West Nile region. Together with our co-convener Integrated Child Service Consult (@EdrijaruE ), we’ve gathered community members, leaders, and local groups to reflect on their daily realities and co-create solutions that truly come from within the community.
As the session opens, participants are beginning to share lived experiences, explore root causes of the issues they face, and reflect deeply on what meaningful development looks like when powered by community knowledge and leadership. This space reminds us that every community already holds the wisdom, strength, and ideas needed to shape its own future.
We are grateful for the continued support from the @CIVICUSalliance , which makes it possible for these community-led spaces to thrive.
Here’s to another day of listening, learning, unlearning, and co-creating right at the grassroots.
