Like like any self-custody wallet, you have to write down your seed!

Respect the intent, but this is the hard part of privacy: if it can be paused for bad actors, it can be paused for everyone else too. The strongest privacy is the kind no operator can switch off, held in your own wallet.

We’re pausing Privacy Cash deposits temporarily. When we started Privacy Cash, our goal was to make privacy tools for everyday people, not to enable crime. In light of the recent Binance hack, we want to make sure bad actors can’t use our product. During the pause, we’ll continue strengthening our wallet screening system. Withdrawals will remain available. Stay tuned for updates on when the service will resume. Thanks for understanding. Privacy is for everyone, but not for criminals.

Proud we did this together. The demand we saw in India for privacy tools, @RadarChat, and @cakewallet was real, people looking for ways to protect themselves and their families. Huge credit to @studentofbtc and @travelwbitcoin. Already looking forward to next year.

Never in a million years would I have expected Bitmela to turn out as well as it did. I knew that @studentofbtc and @travelwbitcoin would pull off something excellent which was why @vikrantnyc and I jumped at the opportunity to help make it a reality as title sponsors, but even that underestimated how well it would turn out! In one incredible weekend I got to: 🤝 Meet and learn from the vibrant Indian Bitcoin community 🎤 Go to my first live standup comedy show, but end up being roasted in Hindi live 🤣 🕺 Wear a traditional formal Indian outfit and dance with a bunch of Bitcoiners (who also dressed up!?? I didn’t think that was possible for Bitcoiners to dress up?) 💻 Walk a packed room through actionable privacy steps in a workshop and see incredible demand for privacy tools 🇮🇳 Get a proper taste of Indian food and culture at the Gala night and Mela night, with everything from live music, games, dancing, and more The interest and demand for privacy tech, local AI, and @RadarChat (in addition of course to @cakewallet) was so encouraging, there is a real felt need in India and they’re rushing to find solutions for themselves and their families. I cannot recommend enough that you make sure to carve out time on your calendar for Bitmela next year no matter where you’re coming from, Santosh and Anuja have proven their craft now and I can’t wait to see how they iterate and improve while keeping the heart of what made Bitmela so amazing this year. P.S. - somewhere there is video of this dancing, supposedly, but let's hope it doesn't leak and break the internet 😅
Edition 01 done. Thank you for flying in, driving in, taking the train, or walking over. You made it feel like a mela, not a conference. See you soon. 🧡

The first step to get started with $XMR is downloading an open-source wallet. What’s your favorite? Mine is @MoneroOne !

Also, a fully shielded z→z transaction, Zcash hides the sender the same way FCMP does: membership in the accumulated set, not a chosen ring or subset. They work very similarly. For a fully shielded transaction, Zcash's sender privacy is at least as strong cryptographically. But the effective anonymity set is what matters, and that's where FCMP wins. Zcash's set is "everyone who chose the shielded pool," Monero's is "everyone, ever, with no choice involved." I’m not bashing either as I’m a fan of both

I’ve heard people call FMCP++ just a “larger mixer” of the current Monero ring signature. Calling FCMP++ a "large mixer" is just plain wrong and it shows the lack of understanding. A mixer pools and shuffles different users' coins together whereas FCMP++ mixes nothing and involves no one else. It's a membership proof: you prove your output is one of every output ever created on the Monero blockchain, without revealing which one. No pool, no counterparty, no custodian. It’s just math, verified by consensus. Get the terminology right.

Easy USDC in Samsung Wallet is a big distribution win. Just know: no private keys means a custodian still holds the account. Convenience is great. Ownership still means self custody. @cakewallet is already making that easy.

Leaving coins on an exchange is how you wake up to a hack notice and frozen withdrawals. Self-custody is the point. If someone else can lose them for you, they were never yours.
