Spent the last few days troubleshooting, and now my #PSXBlueRetro install is finally done – as you can see in the pics and video!
The buzzer is still way too quiet (on the list ✅), but hey – it’s fully working! 😎

Oh boy, what a weekend! Time for a quick update on what happened since Thursday. I worked on two projects – the GameCube USB-C mod and, of course, #PSXBlueRetro.

Sunday: Started again with a fresh stencil, this time for the #PSXBlueRetro power board. It looked promising—USB was detected—but I couldn't flash firmware. Hours later, I fixed it. Now the RP2040 runs and even plays its sounds :)
Work on the prototypes continues. I still have a few ideas for improvements, so there’ll probably be another PCB revision to get everything just right. Stay tuned!

The RP2040 on the #PSXBlueRetro PowerBoard has two main jobs: playing sounds and controlling the power LED.
Sure, the ESP32 could handle it — but I want anyone to easily tweak and customize it. Plus, it provides extra I/O pins for your own ideas!

Here’s the PowerBoard for my #PSXBlueRetro mod. It can be wired in series or parallel with any power supply.
It also houses an additional RP2040 — but what exactly it does… you’ll find out tomorrow! 😄

This is the V1.2 of the main PCB — fixed a footprint, added some noise filtering (never had issues, but hey), and included analog LEDs thanks to DarthCloud’s work. More soon! 😉

Finally got back to working on my PSXBlueRetro mod! Built a quick test circuit for some features, wrote some firmware, and designed a PowerBoard — even did a 3D print test fit inside the console. More updates coming soon! #PSXBlueRetro #BlueRetro #RetroGaming

Parcel delivery firm DPD have replaced their customer service chat with an AI robot thing. It’s utterly useless at answering any queries, and when asked, it happily produced a poem about how terrible they are as a company. It also swore at me. 😂

Today I found my last issue with the current trigger (blown fuses :D), and then I tested the following models successfully: 1002, 5502 (3x), 7002, 7502 and 9002. Now I have to test all controllers ;)
