EU polluters are not currently paying for most of the environmental damage they cause.
Read our study for @EU_ENV on how taxes and other economic instruments could help in applying the polluter pays principle 👇

The circular economy is essential to meeting our climate targets. We’ve collaborated with @IEEP_eu on our latest policy paper that demonstrates why the EU should embed the circular economy in its upcoming climate and industrial legislation ow.ly/p8nr50DBLTC #circulareconomy

This week is the #WorldWaterWeek 💦🌍
Did you know that:
🔹 8 million tonnes of plastics are released into the world’s oceans each year 🧴
🔹 Plastics constitute 85% of marine litter 🥤
🔹 Half of all litter found on beaches are single-use plastics 🏖️

A beautiful country that I've been lucky enough to visit. It's brilliant to see Vanuatu taking world-leading action on single-use plastics!
Last year, the island nation of Vanuatu banned drinking straws, plastic bags and styrofoam. By December, it plans to add all single-use plastics to the list – becoming one of the first countries in the world to do so, and a year ahead of the EU. @bbcworld bbc.com/reel/video/p07l0ftg/…
This lovely little creature just paid me a visit in the @IEEP_eu London office.
If anyone can identify it, please let me know!
(It seemed at home on the EU Strategy for Plastics in a Circular Economy, if that helps 😉)
