My current views on investing:
- Government will never stop printing money, so bitcoin / gold / land will all do well for 2 decades
- AI is drastically underestimated and the best AI companies are significantly undervalued
- Shorting individual stocks is very difficult, so I wouldn’t try it but the biggest indicator of whether a company survives or not is the internal speed of iteration now
- Bonds shouldn’t be in the conversation for anyone under age 50. Picking up pennies in front of steamroller
- Venture investing & public markets will blend in next 5 years, so private valuations will rise due to lots more capital chasing a few great companies
- Young people should look at assets & markets that Wall Street hasn’t adopted yet. This used to be bitcoin/crypto, but now private markets, prediction markets, compute markets, and data brokering
- every investor should be sovereign. You can use a financial advisor, but you have to know your numbers, your strategy, and your risk exposure. AI makes this too easy (Silvia .com)
- Everyone arguing over interest rates, oil, and other historical macro factors are not wrong, but these just have less impact today (thx @jvisserlabs)
- agents are coming for finance and things are going to rapidly change. Don’t fight it, embrace it and use to your advantage.
- Tesla / SpaceX merger will happen and create largest company in human history. My simple rule is to never bet against Elon.

so apparently people are getting flown out of floods by drones in China now
like literally hanging beneath a giant DJI drone and getting flown to dry ground
it was during the recent floods in Guangxi, more than 400 drone pilots showed up with over 300 aircraft
> most of the drones carried food, water, and medicine into villages that roads and boats couldn’t reach
> then rescuers started using the biggest ones to carry people.
> one of them was DJI’s FC200, a cargo drone built to lift up to 440 pounds
> the drone lowers a cable and harness, the person gets strapped in, and a human pilot flies them out remotely using the live camera feed
> one rescue was absolutely insane
> a man was stranded on a roof in Liulan village with floodwater rising around him.
> the pilot swapped in a full battery, kept a second drone ready as backup, and sent the FC200 over the water.
> the man was secured with roughly four wraps of the harness.
> then the drone lifted him nearly 150 feet, threaded him past power lines and treetops, and flew him almost 3,000 feet across the flooded village.

A massive glacier collapse on the Nepal-Tibet border has triggered catastrophic flash flooding and mudslides.
On Wednesday morning, an enormous chunk of ice snapped off a high-altitude glacier, plunging over a vertical kilometer into the valley bottom.
Glaciologists report that this massive ice avalanche blocked the Lhende Khola river, a tributary of the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli rivers. The temporary dam rapidly failed, releasing a towering, apocalyptic wall of water, mud, and heavy debris that violently tore through downstream mountain settlements and border facilities.

17 things i wish i knew when i started trading:
- anyone selling you a trading course is lying to you. great traders make money trading, not from selling webinars.
- understand the difference between investments and trades. investments are made without a sell target. trades are made with targets.
- to determine if something is an investment or a trade, ask yourself if you could stomach a 50% drawdown. if the answer is no, it's a trade.
- most investments should be entered via dollar cost averages. most trades should be entered via limit orders.**
- the right number of crypto investments you should have is probably 3-5.
- the right number of crypto trades to have on at the same time is probably 2-10.
- read the book “trading in the zone” as soon as possible. it focuses largely on the psychological aspects of trading, which just happen to be the most important aspects.
- the market gives new opportunities literally every day. overtrading is the #1 cause of bad returns for half-decent traders. don't force it.
- don’t buy vamps or derivative tokens until you really know what you’re doing. you will lose money.
- if @akshaybd tells you to buy something, just fucking buy it. (learned this one the hard way)
- liquidity matters. owning $50k of a token with $50k in liquidity means you own much less than $50k of that token.
- seek out safe yield aggressively. keep idle stables in yield bearing stablecoins to juice your returns.**
- sell investments when your mental model of the world is changed. sell trades anytime.
- "no one ever went broke taking profits" should be tattooed on your forearm. it is the only cure to the inevitable greed that will otherwise ruin you.
- if you can’t go a few hours without checking a trade, you’ve made the trade too big. reduce your size until you can go 6 hours without looking at it.
- keep 10% of your crypto portfolio in a separate degen wallet. use it to get all the gambling out of your system. give yourself permission to lose it all, as long as you don’t fuck up the 90%.**
- trailing stop losses protect you from trades going south on you. smart traders use them for a reason.**

THE BLOCK: Majority Leader John Thune filed cloture on the motion to proceed to the Clarity Act, setting up a Sept. 15 Senate vote.
The vote will come one day after lawmakers return from recess. Cloture requires 60 votes, with disputes over ethics, illicit finance and Senate Agriculture Committee text still unresolved.
