Cristiano Ronaldo makes a 94-year-old grandmother emotional and teary-eyed as she watches his international retirement video.🥹
Cristiano Ronaldo is beyond football. He's a way of life! 🐐❤️
I finally started this initiative after attending meetings like this that pushed me to take action on a thought I’ve had for months. The purpose of conversations is actions and decisions that align with your purpose and make your life better.

Most goals for Portugal? Ronaldo
Most assists for Portugal? Ronaldo
Most MOTM for Portugal? Ronaldo
Zero titles before him.
Three titles after him.
The literal definition of carrying your nation on your back.
🚨 Pepe tears up explaining the feeling of playing behind Cristiano Ronaldo for Portugal:
“I remember a game when we were under pressure and I cleared a ball without looking. It came straight back.
“Cristiano turned round and said, ‘Pepe, give me something I can chase.’
“I said, ‘I’m trying to get us out.’
“He said, ‘Then give it to me.’
“I laughed afterwards because he was asking me to pick a pass while I had a striker trying to take my head off. But the next time I won it, I looked. He was already moving. I put it down the channel and suddenly their defenders were running towards their own goal.
“That was a wonderful feeling as a centre-back. You’ve spent five minutes defending your box, shouting, getting your body in front of things, and then you hear the crowd because Cristiano has the ball. You can finally step up. You can breathe.
“He gave me a lot of those breaths.
“People will remember his goals against Sweden. I remember what it felt like at the other end when the match became difficult. You look up the pitch and he’s still making the run. You’re tired, he’s tired, everybody knows where the pass is going, and he still wants you to try it.
“I used to ask him, ‘How do you know I can get it there?’
“He’d say, ‘You got it there before.’
“Sometimes that was all the encouragement you needed. He remembered the good pass you’d made, even when you were thinking about the last one you’d given away.
“And then there was France in 2016. When he had to come off, I looked at him and knew how much it was hurting. We’d spoken about winning something for Portugal for so many years. Now we were in the final and he couldn’t stay on the pitch.
“I remember thinking we had to give him a game he could bear to watch.
“That became difficult as well, because every time you looked towards the touchline he was trying to come back on without actually coming back on. I thought, ‘Cristiano, please. We can only listen to one coach.’
“I kept thinking about what it would be like to walk back into that dressing room if we lost. You can tell your friend you gave everything, and he’ll believe you. But you also know he’d give anything to have been out there helping you. I wanted us to come back with something he could hold.
“When Eder scored, I still had defending to do. People watching at home could jump up and celebrate. I was looking at the clock and trying to get everybody back where they needed to be. Every ball into our box felt like it had been in the air for a minute.
“Then it was over. For once, I could look towards Cristiano without having to look straight back at the pitch. I’d spent years wanting him to get on the end of something. That night I just wanted to get over to him.
“Even now, when I see the photographs, I remember how difficult it was to say anything properly. You start a sentence, somebody grabs you, then you see another teammate crying and you forget what you were trying to say. We’d imagined winning that trophy so many times. None of those conversations had prepared me for actually giving him a hug when it happened.
“But when we lifted that trophy, I wanted him in the middle of everything. He’d helped get us to that night. And I knew the boy who’d wanted to win for Portugal was still there inside the man holding the cup.
“Today somebody asked me what Portugal will miss most. There are so many football answers. The movement, the heading, the way he could turn a clearance into a chance. I’ll probably think of another one tomorrow.
“Right now I’m thinking about the next time Portugal are defending a lead and somebody wins the ball near their own box. For years, before I even had it under control, I knew I’d hear him asking for it.
“I’ll be watching from home. I think part of me will still look up to see where he’s running.”
I watched this first match from the window of Uniben medical hostel common room. I had exams to prepare for that night but I paused it to watch greatness and I wasn’t disappointed as Ronaldo scored an hattrick one of which was an Amazing freekick against De Gea.

DEAR CRISTIANO RONALDO,
I honestly don’t know where to begin. My hands are shaking and my heart is heavy writing this.
I hated you when you played for Manchester United, not because you weren’t good, but because you were too good against my team. When you moved to Madrid, I realised I never hated you; I just hated seeing you play for my rival.
Growing up as a little girl, I dreamed of becoming a footballer and you were my inspiration. We had a box television and I would sit and watch your games. I loved your football, your confidence and goodness, that smile! Your pictures were everywhere, from my bedroom walls to my notebooks.
You were more than a footballer to me. You represented hard work, resilience and the courage to stand against the world and still win.
There was a time I almost dropped out of school, but watching your journey kept me going. I am here today, and a part of my story has you in it.
When Portugal crashed out of the 2022 World Cup, I broke down. I cried so much that I collapsed and was admitted to the hospital. I kept wondering how you were coping. I wish I could have hugged you that night.
Today, I am a mother and I have named my son after you. I hope he gets to watch you play before you finally hang up your boots. I want him to know that his name belongs to a man who inspired his mother long before he was born.
You made millions of people fall in love with Portugal without ever visiting the country. You gave us memories, sleepless nights, arguments, celebrations and a lifetime of emotions.
I don’t know how to accept that I may never watch you wear that Portugal shirt again. But I am grateful I lived in your generation.
I know there is no marriage in heaven, but I sincerely hope there is football. I hope we get to watch you play again in Abraham’s bosom.
Thank you for making my childhood beautiful. Thank you for being my childhood hero.
Happy retirement from international football, IDOLO.
You may never know me, but you will forever be part of my story. ❤️🇵🇹
SIIIIUUUU!

Zidane just looked at him and smiled like, what else can this man do?
Because they knew what they had just watched. They knew they were playing with a man who was not normal. Who in the biggest game, against the biggest team, when we were dying, said give me the ball and I will carry you.
That night Ronaldo did not just score a hat-trick. He broke Bayern. He broke the record. He carried Madrid to the semi final, and then to the final in Cardiff, and then to the trophy. Back to back Champions Leagues. Nobody had done that in the modern era.
When Ronaldo walked in, they were not welcoming a player. They were welcoming history.
Anything Cristiano Ronaldo.
I’ve loved and watched you for almost 2 decades and nothing will change the status of your Greatness. The greatest there was, the greatest there is, the greatest there will ever be. GOAT❤️

Dear trader, when you look at your chart and things aren’t clear, when you feel lost and don’t know what to do, try this.
CROSS RIVER STATE: RESTORING TOURISM, REVIVING OUR PORTS AND LISTENING TO THE PEOPLE
After my return from USA on Tuesday November 3rd evening, I held a meeting with Lagos State NDC candidates, and yesterday November 4th morning, I travelled to Calabar, Cross River State, in continuation of our series of town hall meetings and engagements across the country.
In Calabar, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and I led our Cross River State NDC candidates, party members and other supporters on a courtesy visit to His Eminence, Edidem Ekpo Okon Abasi Otu V, the Obong of Calabar.
At the palace of the respected traditional ruler, we informed him of our visit and the town hall meeting. He generously shared his words of wisdom with us and offered prayers and blessings.
At the town hall meeting, we had our usual interactive session, where participants expressed their concerns and asked questions about our plans for the Calabar Port, the restoration of Cross River State to its former status as a leading tourism destination, security, the economy and the general welfare of Nigerians when we are elected.
In my remarks, I assured them of the commitment of Senator Kwankwaso and me to uniting and securing the country and immediately embarking on aggressive investments in critical areas of development, particularly education and healthcare, while pulling our people out of poverty.
I also assured the teeming crowd of participants and supporters that, under our stewardship, the Calabar Port would become fully operational, alongside other ports across the Niger Delta.
On tourism, I recalled with nostalgia how Calabar, Obudu and other destinations in Cross River State used to be preferred tourism destinations for Nigerians and even foreigners. Today, due to poor governance and inadequate attention, the state has lost much of its tourism value. I committed to restoring Cross River State to its pride of place, starting with my personal commitment, when elected President, to spending my holidays at its tourism destinations.
I encouraged our members and supporters to be prepared to defend their votes on Election Day, especially in the face of continued hostility from the government.
My sincere gratitude goes to our teeming supporters, party members, candidates and well-wishers who attended the town hall meeting. I thank the organisers and the good people of Cross River State for the successful programme and their warm hospitality.
A New Nigeria is POssible, and Nigeria will be OK! -PO
