OMR is heavily congested not just because of Metro work , but due to lack of signals. U turns and flyovers don't fix anything, they just move traffic from one junction to another. Due to lack of signals , vehicles are moving quickly and getting accumulated in one place . The vehicles joining from other links roads like Radial road and Perumbakkam road get time to merge on OMR if the traffic is stopped. Without which everyone fight for the left lane.
Having traffic signals creates a sense of fear and prevent people from breaking signals and driving wrong side. It helps people cross road safely without having to be the mercy of guys like you to stop.
Road safety is about enforcing traffic rules and the most basic one is traffic signal .Once its removed, it creates a chain reaction of violations.
And BTW ,I at least have a brain to use when needed.

There are atleast 5 schools within 500 m of this tasmac bang on Bharathi salai triplicane. Why still not closed ? This tasmac is the reason why triplicane is in mess.

This is the condition of triplicane/chepauk/royapettah.
- tasmac near schools
- drunkards on footpaths
- fastfoods using footpath for cooking
- extended shops
- cars and bikes parked as per wish
- trucks parked on road selling groceries
All my complaints are closed without resolution.
This area has unofficially became a food street while buses had to squeeze through narrow roads.

The systematic murder of Chennai infra needs to be studied.
The delay in completion of T3 terminal is part of a longer list of infra projects scrapped or delayed;
Parandur scrapped, existing airport in ruins (no plans for privatisation either), new metro approvals delayed indefinitely, existing metro under construction delayed, major rail station redevelopment delayed, chennai salem expressway scrapped.
