It was never a expressway. It used to have signals in all junctions. And then some dude called u-turn man of TN removed all signals and made it u-turn only.
Looks like you are one of those guys who hate signals and pedestrians and want continuous road like expressways 🤡
This is one off case. But everyday almost 100s of pedestrians face near misses on OMR. Adding signals will atleast slow down the traffic and make easier for pedestrian crossing. Strict enforcement is missing from chennai traffic for wrong side driving

Siruseri sipcot should be considered as silicon valley of Chennai and given utmost importance and world class infrastructure. The huge land parcel behind TCS should be leased to build GCC district which was meant to be a Knowledge township in 2003. @Keerthana4VNR

A work order has been issued to upgrade the 3rd Cross Road, from CH 0/590 to Pudhupakkam Junction near the TNEB substation, with completion scheduled for January 2027. The tender for relaying the cover slab and reconstructing drains on the 1st Main Road at SIPCOT IT Park is scheduled to open towards end of this month.
For the improvement of the 1.5 km stretch of village roads connecting the SIPCOT boundary to Pudhupakkam village, a formal letter has been sent to the Chengalpattu District Collector. We are also coordinating with the Rural Development Department on this matter.

And this is just one off incident. Everyday you should look at pedestrians how much danger they face just to cross few meters because of no signals.
If I am not wrong , I remember once @praddy06 mentioned few years back that stubble burning in the north and central India reaches the chennai. You can see the dust particles near street light rays at night. Visibility gets too low that you cannot see clearly beyond 500m.

Signal is bare minimum. Atleast it reduces 90% traffic every 2 mins for pedestrians to cross. And people fear driving wrong side.
I dont expect enforcement from our traffic police. Simply waste.

Many times I have tweeted @ChennaiTraffic police to install signals on OMR. There is not 1 signal between srp tools and siruseri. Effect of U turn traffic management.
