Replying to @muneeb
Agree there’s no need to consider Bitcoin and AI mutually exclusive.
Price speculation aside- I’d argue agentic payments prefer permissionless money as a transport layer over stablecoins, even if the endpoints stay on a dollar standard.
Nobody can afford to give a token issuer control over whether or not their compute executes.
I also don’t want the overhead of deciding which stablecoin issuer and which rails to rely on. Bitcoin as the “dumb pipe” to power compute marketplaces makes a hell of a lot more sense than introducing another dependency.
And fwiw the best part of this post is that disagreement doesn’t have to mean disrespect. @Jason is not dumb and works hard to provide a lot of value to the startup ecosystem when I’m pretty sure he doesn’t have to.
Cheers
The renaissance will have good UX

⚡️Had a great chat with Brett Hansen @Bcuz21 author of 'The Belief Machine' about why smart people ignore Bitcoin, how the mind protects identity, why Bitcoin is not crypto and more.

The only way out is through.
They're calling it the Bugpocalypse. LLMs are being used to find long-hidden cracks in the software infrastructure, and it's happening at a furious rate. 3% of all compromises in computing history happened in the last week, claims one source? I believe it.
There are people saying public access to the frontier models ought to be locked out, or heavily guardrailed, over this. The problem with that idea can be summed up in one sentence: when lockpicks are outlawed, only outlaws will have lockpicks.
The lockpicks will be Chinese open-weight models, if nothing else. There's no way to stop those from becoming ubiquitous.
There are two futures in front of us. One in which only the bad guys have lockpicks, and security holes go undiscovered until they're exploited. Another in which everybody has lockpicks and is aggressively red-teaming their own software so it gets fixed before the holes are exploited.
The corpus of human code is huge but finite. The number of defects in it has to be finite too. We can fix those defects now; we have a million friendly robots to do it with.
The only way out is through.

That’s it. I’m starting a new Bitcoiner trend
Maybe this is a bit Toxic Maxi of me, but
Instead of posting pictures of steak, we should be sharing how we’re using Bitcoin as money, and supporting Bitcoin merchants and the Bitcoin circular economy
That circle grows. Till eventually… like a supernova. The gradually then suddenly we talk about.
This is my latest order from @Otis_Bitmeyer.. and yes, I’m a repeat customer! ✨
I’m setting up shop with available products for zap out. And display products from other Conduit Merchants, directing shoppers to their stores.
With Conduit, I don’t have to spend time figuring out which vendor I owe, how many sats to, and more time being present.
I think of Conduit Event Markets as a portal: your shop can be there even when you aren’t. Someone can bring your products to a meetup, and you can receive the payment directly without being there to generate a Lightning invoice.
It’s hard to contain my excitement, because THIS is the way to create the future we want to live in. Open commerce, open protocols and grassroots movements.. because of US. As my friend, @tim_niemeyer_ says.
“the stronger the nodes, the strongest network” 🥂🧡✨

YOU CAN JUST HOST THINGS. ⚡
We’re doing it with Big G and the Machine: a digital ticket for 500 sats, and your purchase counts as your RSVP. 🎟️
And your event can reach beyond Conduit through NIP-52 (it gives calendar events a common format, so other apps supporting it can find and display your event’s details.)
Publish your event on Conduit and it's discoverable through compatible apps across the Nostr-verse. 💜 ⚡
Live music. Bazaars. Farmers’ Markets. Meetups.

HUGE THANK YOU to @conduit_market and @EricFJ_Conduit and @bitcoinconfams for making this possible! It’s an honor to represent the Conduit Team and the Open Markets Foundation at the frontier of the Renaissance and spread the word about what they’ve built to grow Bitcoin payments and the Bitcoin circular economy. 🧡💜✨

I'm speaking at Bitcoin Amsterdam on Nov 5 and 6, and I've got 5 GA passes to give away 🧡
If you can be in Amsterdam those days, reply with who you'd bring. I'll pick 5 winners on Oct 28 and DM you a code.
Only enter if you can actually make the trip!

If you’ve followed me for a while, you know I love creating digital Bitcoin art.
I’ve always thought art was a powerful way to start conversations about Bitcoin. It can make an idea feel less abstract, invite curiosity, and sometimes open a door for people who would never sit down for a monetary policy lecture.
Over the years, I’ve consistently had people comment on the artwork I share and on the style I’ve developed. I wanted to create a place where that digital work could become tangible.
So I built BitcoinArtStore.com
Bitcoin art made for walls. Made to add color to a space, create conversation, and give some of these ideas a physical presence.
The first collection is live now.
Take a look and let me know what you think.
Maybe people could use some kind of a … conduit… to put their energy into a new system…

Game theory is a yuuuge scam, a field for bullshitters to write performative papers & cite one another. It doesn't generalize from "small world" models to "large world".
@stephen_wolfram showed (#RWRI lecture) that when one uses automata "dominant strategies" s.a. tit-for-tat become inferior.

“Moats” have never been a sustainable long term strategy anyway.
Brand, team, process, innovation, culture…
Open source everything and force yourself to focus on those instead.
The end of software secrecy is almost upon us. The death of closed source, and the final triumph of open source.
I should have realized this a few months ago when I successfully decompiled the game of Firefighter from an ancient DOS shareware binary. My robot friend was able to tell it had been written in Borland Pascal from looking at the data layout; it gave me back very readable Pascal code with sensibly chosen function and variable names. I transpiled it to Rust and now ship it as part of my heritage games collection.
The thing is, I thought of this as a fun stunt but didn't have any confidence that the technique would scale up to large, real programs. I have since learned that people are now doing this sort of thing with entire AAA games, which are among the most complex software artifacts ever to be shipped as a binary. If they can be decompiled, anything can be.
This has implications. Massive implications. We need to think about what the world is like when, in general, there is no longer a secrecy moat around almost any software at all.
