The rainfall has also caused localized flooding resulting in some road closures in various regions. Motorists are being asked to: - Avoid unnecessary travel during severe weather and to obey all road closures - Slow down and increase following distance. Heavy rain can reduce visibility fast, and wet roads make it harder to stop - Avoid driving through large puddles or flooded roadways as depth can be difficult to judge and conditions underneath may be unsafe The public is also encouraged to monitor local news outlets and radio stations for updates in their area, and follow official social media accounts of the OPP, local municipalities, and emergency services.
