☀️ Water scarcity is back in the news.😓
The Spey is currently at 'Alert', but the hot dry weather is set to continue with things getting worse.
We need more projects like our #DelliefureBurn project, which hold more water in our catchment.
We need to 'rewet' our #floodplain

Every time we return to our Allt Lorgy River Restoration project, I am inspired.
This project has brought so many benefits.🥳
For example, during hot weather, the deeper, cooler pools created as part of our project offer an ideal refuge for juvenile salmon and trout.

Huge congratulations to all the staff and pupils at @FordyceSchool from me and all at @EstatesSeafield; a well deserved recognition for all the hard work you put into achieving this and impressing the judges.

At this time of year, we typically see a rise in deliberate fires.
Our crews do not come to work to be met by fire-setting or antisocial behaviour.
We work hard every day to prevent deliberate fire-setting, but we need your help.

When those like me & many other land managers are managing upland estates for wildlife and biodiversity as well as grouse shooting and obeying the law, it makes me absolutely sick & very very angry that some estates are still doing this sort of sh*t! 🤬 FFS THIS HAS TO STOP NOW!!
RED KITE shot on Lochindorb Estate yesterday: Police Scotland appeal for info.
Bravo, @PoliceScotland for a fast appeal & for naming the estate where the shooting was witnessed.
Grouse moor licensing bill is timely, @MairiMcAllan
