#EndingVAWG is a development issue.
Prevention and response are key prerequisites to effective economic development strategies, and the economic costs of VAWG must be part of the conversation with financial institutions and development partners.

#SVRIForum takeaways:
- Evidence must turn into action. Research matters if it leads to laws, budgets and services.
- Grassroots and global must connect.
- Inclusion is not optional. Africa & Global South must shape the global agenda, not just attend it.

A few takeaways from #PS53 in Geneva:
- Clear, evidence-based recommendations carry weight.
- The UPR is a cycle, not a moment.
- No one advocates alone. Being part of a wider coalition carries local voices onto the global stage.

🇸🇿 #PS53 @ThulisileMaziya denounced the lack of shelters and survivor services available to women experiencing domestic violence and #GBV, urging #Eswatini to open one-stop survivors' centres in all of its regions and to provide economic support for survivors.
Earlier this year, Eddna spoke about why she led 12 NGOs into a joint civil society submission on Tanzania's UPR. Her answer: grassroots organisations see what national reporting often misses, the day-to-day barriers survivors face in reaching justice & gaps in laws.

Ahead of the #upr53 pre-session, Eddna, Thuli & Amjad joined a briefing hosted by UPR Info, led by a representative of the Swiss Permanent Mission, an open discussion on the UPR process and what to expect in the days ahead.
