The SB reluctantly votes to approve crumb rubber infill replacement fields at Annandale HS ($580K) & South County HS ($1.3 M) despite concerns about using the chemicals involved in such synthetic materials.

Dr. Reid presents her recommendation on Lexia use for Kindergarteners requiring addt'l support:
-up to 75 mins of Lexia use a week
-Opt out rights.
This to avoid worsening teacher/student ratios on interventions.
"Its that kind of lack of information that creates an air of we are not being transparent."
Dr. Anderson points out that FCPS makes it extremely difficult for the public to navigate its budget documents to see where the bulk of funds are being spent.

-Limited Lexia usage permitted for those w additional literacy need or IEPs/508 plans.
-Opt out options for kindergarten families.
Dr. Reid notes unique difficulties w bringing Algebra 1 to FCPS 6th graders, since 6th grade is often in elementary schools (unlike other school systems), leading to higher number of students having to take the class virtually.
