Central banks are "quietly" stacking gold, per Fortune. Goldman Sachs estimates they bought 79 tonnes in August, more than four times the pre-2022 average of 17 a month. $GS calls that buying a "structural support" for gold. The Dutch central bank moved 86 tonnes from New York and Ottawa to London. The support holds only while buying stays well above 17 tonnes.

Success is mostly doing obvious things for an unreasonably long time. • Train for years • Save consistently • Put 10,000 hours into one skill Success isn't complex. It's compound interest on simple actions. Simple never meant easy.

$META is doing almost the same thing $GOOGL did in 2014. Google gave shareholders a non voting Class C share for each share they owned so Page and Brin could keep control while Google kept issuing stock. The Class C shares traded lower than the voting ones and Google ended up paying $522 million to make up for it. The big difference is Meta wants to use these shares to help raise the hundreds of billions they say they need for AI. Google mostly used theirs to pay employees and buy companies. And it is also for Zuckerberg. If California passes its billionaire tax next month he can sell some of his new shares to pay it without giving up votes.
$META is creating a new kind of share with no voting rights. Every shareholder will get one for each share they own. It’s a stock dividend but it works like a 2 for 1 stock split. Zuckerberg holds most of the voting power. Since the new shares don’t come with votes Meta can sell them to pay for AI and he keeps control. Zuckerberg will get the new shares as well. He can sell 20% of them without losing voting power. With the other 80% he gives up some voting power for every one he sells. That rule goes away over 8 years if he stays full time on Meta’s executive team or as executive chair.

China’s CSI 300 has fallen about 20% from its June high and entered bear market territory. The drop comes as AI trades unwind and hopes for major stimulus fade. A 10-week losing streak and weak earnings have added pressure. Whether the slide continues depends on clearer policy support or better results.
🇨🇳 NOW: China’s CSI 300 index is on track for a bear market, down 20% from its June high as the AI trade unwinds and hopes for stimulus fade.

Discipline without direction is exhaustion. Ambition without emotional stability is pure pressure. Money without self-control disappears. Stop treating your life as disconnected pieces. Rebuild the whole person.

💵 I’m a bit over 20% cash at the moment. Happy about that, of course. I’d rather be in a bull market though!

🔴 Diversified IRA: -2.76% 🔴 Aggressive Growth: -4.64% Some surprising winners today. Notice my little friend $VIXY in the winner column? That’s my hedge against drops like today. High fees so don’t stay in it long. The faster it ramps up, the more I buy. NFA

One winner! More stocks are passing. I’m rethinking the last gate criteria to ensure the “best” possible outcome. Too long?

As with the NASDAQ, socks are starting to pass more gates and building up.

What’s encouraging to me right here is the fact that more stocks are passing through the gates. Although it shows none to act on now, they are piling up and ready to push through.
