This field had a tremendous rye cover crop stand. Unfortunately it wasn’t able to be planted until June 2 due to a wet spring. It was clean as a whistle so I decided to try something new: Roll the rye, wait to spray. Roundup/liberty on July 7. Clean as can be. I’m impressed!

NASS just corrected an error in the Sept. WASDE. USDA’s NASS says it found a processing error in September 2026 corn data affecting Kansas, Nebraska and U.S. yield and production forecasts.
NASS corrected the September figures, but October’s WASDE forecast remains unchanged: 181.2 bu./acre, up 2.7 bu. from September, with production projected at more than 16 billion bushels.

Laken Riley had a Garmin smartwatch on when she was attacked
Her heart rate jumped to 170 bpm which told investigators that was when she was being attacked
It lasted for 17 minutes then suddenly stopped - that's when the animal finally killed her
So the next time you want to tell me about how unfair illegal immigrants are being treated I want you to set a timer for 17 minutes and watch it go by so you can understand how long that young woman fought for her life
Spending $1.5B to get $8B HFRP 🤔
That's a better ROI than @SpeakerPelosi gets on her trades
Bumping as annual reminder to parents with younger kids
New tradition at the farm
Each kid gets to pick one day to play hooky from school and help with planting or harvest
Today is his day as graincartboy
10 years from now he likely wouldn't remember what he learned in class but I guarantee he will remember this day of #harvest21
You're going to miss this
You're going to want these days back
These are some good times

Back To The Future- Christopher Lloyd turns 88 today, and he celebrated with the most fitting Doc Brown reference possible: “When this baby hits 88 miles per hour, you’re gonna see some serious shit.”
How it started. How it's going.
As a senior last fall, my son had the chance to custom seed 20 acres of rye cover crop at the local FFA owned farm. They planted beans into the rye this spring and just harvested them this week. Only half got fungicide. 80 bpa field average.
My new voting strategy. I'll vote for the candidate who sends me the least amount of junk mail. This was a single day.

It’s another good day to be a cow.
The cover crops are starting to kick in a little bit.

If you don’t try it yourself you’ll never know. I started project keep the soil green on one test for 4 years. Yields spoke for themselves. Now more than ever in a drought. Every irrigated farm for sure will have something living/growing on it as long as the crop allows. Only breaks will be harvest. Wheat fits the cows and crops. Doesn’t have be complicated cover mix
The government is already doing this through CRP. People just don't see the bushels. Imagine the 26 million acres coming online next year and hypothetically averaging a measley 100 bpa of corn = 2.6B bushels added to supply side.
