What's being built: For the past 5 weeks, I've gotten the privilege to work with the first teams building with verifiable compute powered by @imua. It's been a blast. Our first cohort of builders is incredibly diverse and offers a glimpse of what's possible in the future through verifiable compute. As a builder, you can build any app or service with onchain verifiability without being limited by the VM, e.g., use any programming language and common tools like CRON jobs. What's Coming: Going to explain the future of verifiability non-technically because I'm a non-technical person 🙃 But imagine not needing to trust any app or service is behaving well because you can either a.) enforce good behavior or b.) prove their honesty. There are tons of use cases in AI and privacy-focused computing: - Accountable AI agents - Off-chain risk management - Provable randomness for games - Privacy-preserving KYC/AML Basically, any calculation or computation can be done in a way that doesn't require blind trust. Why this matters: as @warpaul often points out, institutional trust is at an all-time low. Verifiable compute is a way to redefine our relationship with any institution, on-chain or off-chain, but giving us a way to verify, not trust. Another way to think of it: the world is moving on-chain. But onboarding people is hard and takes a lot of friction, like the early dial-up days of the internet. Verifiable compute makes all the benefits of being on-chain readily available to off-chain, Web2 devs. It introduces the broadband era of Web3. Verifiable compute is a platform that lets developers build anything they want, backed by cryptoeconomic guarantees. And that gets to the heart of why Imua is called "Imua," the Hawaiian word for "moving forward." Imua is moving all of crypto forward with verifiable compute powered by staked assets from any and all chains. Believing in crypto. Keep building. Move forward. Imua.
