"We usually don't just trust people. You earned it."
A client in New York said that to us on a call.
They're a media company building an interactive streaming platform. When we started, it hadn't launched yet, and their engineer had already built a lot of features
The problem was that it was hard to use and hard to understand. Nobody on the team was really thinking about what it's like for someone who just sits down to watch or produce a show
We changed the order of things, restructured parts of the product and moved features to where a viewer would actually look for them. On the same call, they said design and how we handled scaling the video were two of the things they valued most
Thank you for trusting us with this π«Ά
AI helps engineers build faster than ever. But someone still has to decide what's worth building, what to leave out, how onboarding should work and what happens in the edge cases. If nobody does that, you just ship the wrong thing faster
If you have a strong engineering team but nobody owning the product side, I'd be happy to talk. We've done this for companies in New York, Washington DC, Florida and North Carolina.

Marc Lou's most famous product just fell 98%.
$126,000/month β $2,000/month.
Everyone is saying: "never bet your whole life on a single product."
But I think that's the completly wrong takeaway. What actually happened is way more interesting, and it explains why he's still making $1M a year.
Here's the full story & what I'd do as a product strategist with ShipFast tomorrow if it were mine:
β
The numbers for ShipFast:
2023: $0/mo
2024: $126,000/mo
2025: $25,000/mo
2026: $2,000/mo
$1.27M all-time. One product. Solo. Impressive af!
One take could be: he got distracted. He launched TrustMRR, DataFast, Ship or Die, and let his golden goose starve. I thought the same first.
That's partly true but maybe 30% of the story imo. The other 70% was baked in from day one.
β
1. One-time purchases have no floor.
ShipFast never had MRR. Every month it had to find brand-new buyers. That gives you a predictable shape: launch wave, long tail fed by Marc's audience, then decay. No subscribers to cushion the fall.
2. The peak was a spike
A viral YouTube feature pushed ShipFast from ~$50k to ~$135k a month for a couple of months. A big part of the "crash" on that chart is just hype normalizing.
3. AI ate the category.
In 2023, a Next.js boilerplate saved you weeks of auth, Stripe and landing page setup.
In 2026, Cursor or Claude Code does that in an afternoon. Cheaper kits flooded the market.
The moat was speed. Speed got commoditized.
(I think boilerplates are more useful than ever, but the market is the market)
β
Now the 30% that IS on Marc:
Marc doesn't just market ShipFast. Marc IS ShipFast's marketing. Every tweet, every launch video, even the revenue ticker in his bio.
The moment he started tweeting about TrustMRR instead, ShipFast lost its only engine.
β
But here's something we have to give to @marclou:
It WORKED!!
He saw the decline coming and built the replacements BEFORE ShipFast flatlined. TrustMRR now earns more than 10x what ShipFast does. He still made over $1M in 2025 while his most famous product basically died.
I see ShipFast as a big W. It did its job: it built the audience that built everything else.
β
What I'd do with ShipFast tomorrow:
Not sell it. At small-SaaS multiples it's worth less than one good month of his portfolio.
Instead:
β Make it free
β Preinstall DataFast analytics and TrustMRR verification
β Bundle it into Ship or Die
It costs him ~$2k/month. In return, every founder who starts a project with ShipFast walks straight into his subscription products.
A dying one-time product becomes the front door to his recurring revenue.

Most people think building an AI product requires a technical background.
It does not.
It requires deep knowledge in something.
Janu Lingeswaran @JanuBuilds breaks down the exact framework on Growth Boss. Here is everything.

I LOVE it when the person who referred a client to us gets praised for choosing us!! π₯°

We'd been planning to offer launch videos for a while.
But we never got around to it.
Then a client we'd built an AI product for asked if we could create a launch video for them...
And we said yes!!
This is the result. We're not 100% happy with it ourselves, but the client was in love. π₯°
(and we did it at a heavy discount)
For the next 3 clients, we give a heavy discount. Check the link in comments!
If you know someone who needs a launch video for their AI product, hit me up!

Thank you for all the kind words on this. The DMs especially. β€οΈ
Revenue is amazing but something which makes me even more happy is
what clients told us over the past months:
π¬ A luxury travel company from DC, at their launch demo:
"I'm really excited, really happy with what you guys have built. Well done, guys!"
π¬ A SaaS founder in the Real Estate Space from North Carolina, comparing us to the agency she worked with before:
"I just keep thinking how much better of an experience this is than the previous company. I tell you what I want, and you come back and say: okay, we did this. I'm just grateful."
π¬ A B2B SaaS client from London, on our admin prototype:
"The general consensus is that you pretty much nailed it."
π¬ A media company from New York on a Dev+Design+QA retainer, after last week's demo:
"You guys are thinking through this really well. It's everything we thought and more."
π€ And my personal favorite: an AI company from Berlin put us on a slide at their own event.
"FeatherFlow did an amazing job. If you need AI work done, talk to them. We can recommend them."
A client recommending us on stage, unprompted. It doesn't get better than that. It was such an amazing feeling!!
None of these are my wins. They're the team's.
And I am so fcking proud that we were able to achieve all of this. π₯°
I made $76,200 in July 2026.
πͺΆ FeatherFlow β $72.5k (best month ever!)
π Effortless Backlinks β $2.3k (2nd best month ever!)
π Instructor side gig β $1.1k
π¦ BoilerplateHub β $234 (ads)
July was INSANE. π€― Pure adrenaline, start to finish.
My best month ever, by far.
And I'm endlessly grateful for it.
4 years ago, entrepreneurship was just a dream, nothing I could grasp.
2 years ago, I left my job and I was scared.
Today, I get to live that dream. π
Full transparency: these are revenue numbers, not profit, not my salary. FeatherFlow is a (TALENTED!) team. And Effortless Backlinks is split 50/50 with my co-founder.
A bunch of people here inspired me (@SimonHoiberg for example). I hope I can inspire others too. β€οΈ
Keep going!

OMR 2026 wrapped. On the way home now.
We caught Tom Brady's talk. Exactly what you'd expect: a classic American motivational speech, lot of "don't be a bitch", but very entertaining. π
Heading home with a long list of ideas we want to work through, a handful of leads, and some potential new projects on the horizon. I am very happy!! π₯°
It was really great to meet the people you work with or have been in touch with for a while, in person. Makes everything a bit more human & real :)

OMR Day 1 and I barely stepped inside a stage. No regrets, though. π
I only visited the talk from our client SnipKI (which was great btw)!
I mostly spend my time meeting cool people!
Met friends I've known from X and LinkedIn for years. Some for the first time IRL. Those conversations > any keynote.
One observation: AI for WhatsApp and chat commerce + GEO stuff was at every other booth. Wow, the market is saturated.
Excited for day 2!! π
