Had a wonderful opportunity to write & produce my first television project. ‘An aspiring journalist enters a beauty pageant undercover to expose the shady dealings of the philanthropist who runs it.’ Tune into UBUHLE BENDALO this Saturday at 8:30pm on Mzansi Magic 🎬 🚀

This colonial education pacified us by programming a notion of advancement that is sustained only by participating in white structures It's like the average black person cannot reimagine themselves away from imperial institutions that continue to show us they cannot be trusted.

Colonization took away so much more than land and resources. It took away identity, tradition, rituals, language, names, history.

I cannot stop thinking about how in ancient times, EVERY culture loved women and viewed them as magical portals to the human world. Mothers were the original leaders, received offerings, and were worshipped as life-giving goddesses. What the hell happened to that way of thinking?
The first ever worship. The first religion: WOMEN.

If it was a Nigerian girl, ngabe nimthuke down, y’all are still mentally colonized, out of all the maidens in attendance a ✋🏻 girl had to be put on a pedestal.
Today, I joined thousands of people from across South Africa and from different nations in celebrating uMkhosi woMhlanga in KwaZulu-Natal. I extend my sincere gratitude to everyone who travelled to be part of this important celebration of our heritage, culture and identity. I also wish to express my profound appreciation to His Majesty King Misuzulu kaZwelithini for hosting and welcoming people from all parts of our country and from across the world to the Zulu Kingdom. uMkhosi woMhlanga reminds us that our culture is a source of pride, unity and belonging. It is a celebration of who we are, while opening our doors to the world. To all who participated, thank you for making this year’s uMkhosi woMhlanga a memorable occasion. Siyabonga. Halala! #UMkhosiWoMhlanga #WasibizaSavuma #ZuluReedDance2026 #KZNCulturalTourism #ProudlyKZN

Then I suppose it’s a good thing feminism is a political movement and not a beauty pageant.

We’re never building a matriarchy with some of the views I’ve seen on here.

There is no correct way to be a woman in a patriarchal society. Our constitution is progressive but the people aren't

I really hate this thing of bullying Black women for daring to fall pregnant without a ring. We constantly talk about how marriage guarantees nothing, how there are married single mothers, and yet so many still can’t comprehend that not everyone wants marriage

It’s actually so sad seeing younger women pander to the very systems that do not recognise women as self-actualised, fully autonomous beings capable of dictating the terms and conditions of their own lives. This idea that a pregnant woman owes society a ring? We’re regressing.

I’ve watched this ad so many times, & I still can’t understand the link between the courage of the women of 1956, Mama Winnie’s legacy & drinking alcohol. Considering how alcohol was weaponised by the apartheid govt as a tool of oppression, the entire advert is deeply insensitive
Am I the only one offended by this ad?

I see a lot of men posting how no woman deserves this and I think that’s sad. Most restaurants would do this for free, at least back then when I did it, it came as a free service. How cheap can you be as a man to even lack the empathy to do something nice and basic for that girl you claim to like?
