This is why we can’t get anything done.
In Rayleigh, plans to build 87 homes were met with 821 objections.
821 objections. Almost ten objections per home.
The average age of home ownership is 34.
Young British people deserve a place to live and start a family.
Currently they aren't able to.
So why were the houses blocked?
Because of a “loss of light”.
“Loss of light” blocked 87 opportunities.
This is not more important than allowing British people to live their life.
It’s time to just get on with it.
Do you agree?

The civic institution of Joseph Chamberlain, Neville Chamberlain, Joseph Sturgeon, the phenomenal campaigner against slavery, and Ellen Pinsent, the city’s first female Cllr in 1911; reduced to a hectoring racket for Jew baiting. Is there a more distinct vision of decline.
🇵🇸 BIRMINGHAM COUNCIL VOTES TO DIVEST FROM ISRAEL IN HISTORIC MOVE
Birmingham councillors have celebrated the passing of a motion calling for divestment from Israel, describing it as a historic victory for the Palestinian cause.
One councillor declared that Birmingham will no longer be complicit in the occupation, while others welcomed the outcome as a major step forward for Palestine solidarity.
The councillors also praised campaigners and local residents who pushed for the motion, emphasising the importance of sustained grassroots pressure.
The vote adds Birmingham's voice to growing calls for public bodies across Britain to review their financial relationships with companies linked to Israel.
The next test will be how the council translates the motion into practical divestment measures.

@AbdulElSayed congratulations on your win, but you should treat journalists with more respect. Be the change you preach.
A free press is the cornerstone of any modern democracy - journalists have a tough enough job as it is.

With the loss of governors races in Texas, Ohio and Georgia, there will be only one state of the top ten most populous states with a Republican governor:
Florida.
Ron DeSantis is now liberated. We will be hearing more from him.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis:
Some of these Republicans are saying, "Oh, well, the gas, don't worry. It's no big deal." Or they're trying to blame Biden.
No, no. Listen, we've just got to be honest. Gas is higher. It hurts people, working-class people, and it's higher because of the Iran conflict.
That's just the fact. If you can't admit that to voters, then you're gaslighting them, and they're not going to listen to you on other things.
