Even the world's best drivers like being driven
Nico Rosberg, F1 World Champion & founder of Rosberg Ventures, has been testing Cybertruck with FSD(S) around San Francisco, and says "it’s been LIFE-CHANGING!"
"My whole racing career, I was the one in control behind the wheel. But I’m now fully willing to hand over control"
@NicoRosberg @elonmusk
Q3 Shareholder Update → ir.tesla.com
Highlights
– FSD Supervised attach rate grew to over 75% of new vehicle deliveries in NA
– Unveiled the next-gen Roadster
– Record deliveries in Canada, Australia, Japan & Taiwan
– Tesla Semi now in volume production. Top variant can go up to 500 miles at a full 82,000 lbs while achieving efficiency of 1.7 kWh/mile – about a third of the energy a comparable diesel truck burns for the same load
– Ended the quarter with the largest backlog for our passenger vehicles in 4 years!
FSD Supervised
– 4 new approvals since Q2 (Croatia, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Slovakia)
– FSD is now live in nine EU countries & used by over 100,000 customers logging more than 160 million kilometers since initial approval
Robotaxi
– Deployed Cybercab into our Austin fleet
– Hit nearly 2 million cumulative unsupervised miles, 8x growth in the quarter
– Austin service now runs 6 am to midnight, with wait times continuing to come down as we add cars & improve the orchestration algorithms
– Added Grok to Cybercab with Grok Bot & Connectors, letting you interface with your inbox, calendar, files, chats and tasks, all by voice.
Transport, office & living room in one
Robotics
– Started production of @Tesla_Optimus on our high-volume lines in Fremont.
These are the first production-quality bots we've built, proving that the current manufacturing process for Optimus is suitable for a commercial product
SI Compute
– On track for 400 MW of training compute by year end, feeding both vehicle & humanoid autonomy
– Austin Fab construction continues, equipment commissioning planned for 2027
Battery
– Battery supply is still the limiter on how fast we ramp vehicles globally, so we're expanding on every front: pack capacity in Berlin, cathode and lithium refining in Texas, LFP cells in Nevada
– Shipped the first Megapacks built entirely with our own LFP cells
– Increasing 4680 output to support ramp of Cybercab, Semi & Model Y
Energy
– Megafactory Texas is up & running, with Megapack 3 production started
– Highest-ever order rate & backlog for energy storage
Grid constraints & power availability are making Megapack the answer for SI infrastructure demand: it excels at supplying large data center loads, smooths out demand spikes, helps new projects meet grid connection rules & makes the grid itself more stable
All with less local fossil fuel generation
Supporting Infrastructure
– Added 2,100+ net new Supercharger stalls, up 14% year over year

Tesla just dropped its first Robotaxi Safety Report 🚨
3.1 million driverless miles
No safety monitor on board
Texas + Florida (Jan 22 to Oct 18)
The numbers 🧵

3.1M driverless miles
Zero injuries
Zero pedestrians or cyclists hit 🤯
Humans over the same miles: ~9 injury crashes
Europe, are we watching? 🇪🇺
We are launching the Tesla Robotaxi safety report today.
Till date, Robotaxi has driven a total of 3.3 million miles autonomously, and has had zero injuries nor airbag deployments. If the same number of miles were to be manually driven, we should expect roughly 9 injuries to the occupants or other pedestrians and 4 airbag deployments on average.
We will continue to transparently share our progress with the public using this page.

🇫🇮 Finland has been "assessing" Tesla FSD (TAD) for 120 days.
On 23 June, Traficom said its review of the Dutch approval was ongoing, "particularly in Finnish conditions", and that the EU vote was expected in October 2026.
October came. No vote. No Finnish decision.
Around 6,500 HW4 Teslas are waiting in Finland, yet Tesla is already running demo rides there.
Traficom can recognise it nationally at any time. Will it move before December?

The fact that Tesla was able to keep the development of the Roadster a secret for so long is pretty impressive.

We were promised flying cars.
Tesla & SpaceX said “hold my beer” and built the new Roadster.
Configurations
– Performance: road ready, seats 2
Active aerodynamics & multi-mode suction system for next-level performance on & off the track
– Thrust: race ready, seats 2
Multi-mode suction system paired w/ rear-mounted cold-gas thrusters that enable 0–60 in <1 second
– Rocket: air ready, seats 1
Multi-mode suction system plus perimeter-mounted cold-gas thrusters supporting forward & upward acceleration plus lateral rotational movement. So...yes, it can fly
Range >300 miles
Top speed up to >230mph (Rocket)
0-60
Performance (<1.6)
Thrust (<0.9)
Rocket (<0.59)

🚨 You may wonder what actually gives the next-gen Tesla Roadster the muscle to pull off mid-air flips? 😳
It all comes down to an authentic SpaceX-derived cold gas thruster system 🚀
Roughly ten hidden nozzles line the underbody, flanks, and rear diffuser, fed by an ultra-high-pressure composite tank bolted where the rear seats used to be. Instead of burning rocket fuel, it blasts massive bursts of compressed air or nitrogen for pure reaction thrust—recharged on the fly by an onboard compressor.
That setup delivers full multi-directional thrust vectoring:
- Rear thrusters: Blast acceleration into overdrive, claiming a face-melting 0–60 mph sprint in just 1.1 seconds.
- Front thrusters: Act like instantaneous reverse thrusters, radically trimming braking distances.
- Lateral thrusters: Kill body roll to glue the chassis flat through high-g corners.
- Downward thrusters: Provide instant vertical pop for brief hops, hovering, or clearing obstacles.
Pair that thruster array with active aero and underbody suction fans, and the physics get wild. The car could theoretically stick upside down on a banked loop for seconds, blast off the lip to nail a clean mid-air flip, stick the landing, or jump clean over a line of cars. The real engineering hurdle? Dynamic attitude control—keeping the vehicle balanced in real time without wiping out.
When it hits production, expect street-legal versions to keep the performance-boosting thrust assists, while the full acrobatic flight package stays strictly locked down for the track.

The whole world: Why make a car that can do shit like this?
Tesla: Because it’s cool and because we can
