Things that I have, unfortunately learned WELL against my will about at least half the horror community:
1. None of y’all would ever bat an eye at Regan from The Exorcist (a child who had her autonomy stripped from her), Carrie (a victim of literal abuse and torment both from her mother and classmates), Jason (once a CHILD victim who died tragically), any deadites from The Evil Dead franchise, to name a few, being added, but yall draw the line at Nikki for some reason.
2. Obsession was clearly baby’s first horror movie for too many of yall, because why are we acting like Nikki is the first SA survivor to become a horror icon?
3. Y’all need everything SPOON fed to you because, why are we also having discourse on whether or not Freddy Krueger was a child molestor?
4. It’s okay for Freddy to be a child predator, but when The Grabber comes into the conversation, it’s pearl clutching time
5. Not a single one of you actually cares that the LITERAL CAST AND CREW LOVE SEEING HER ADDED
6. Too many of you care more about a literal FICTIONAL character than yall do about real life SA survivors telling you it’s actually more offensive that you only see Nikki as what happened to her.
7. You ALL need to touch grass yesterday!
JFC. This administration is barbaric.

At this point critics should just not review Snyder's films.
Every critic that didn't like The Last Photograph is getting ton of hateful comments from Snyder's rabid cult.
It's just not worth it. Ignore his films and let him play to a vacuum.
Snyder fans having completely normal and muted response to critical reactions for The Last Photograph.
So glad he has such a sensible and calm fan base.
"Waaaaah."
For 18 months, I was the only reporter in the world with this story. Because I'm good at my job. Say whatever you want about me... and you will. But I'm good at my job, and my outburst on Friday boils down to lingering resentment about not being "allowed" to be the best me that I can be by The Powers That Be. Hurt people hurt people, and I was certainly hurting last week. It manifested itself in ego and bravado. For people to turn that pain into something ugly is unfortunate, but to be expected in this day and age. Anyway, I broke this story and then spent 18 months being called a liar, a grifter, a fraud, etc. In the end, it turned out to be true. I can’t believe they’ve had Jason Voorhees at Halloween Horror Nights before????
He’s literally a child who drowned?!?!
Like he’s the victim…this is so problematic.
Like literally omg wut rofl smh crying
I feel like people think Obsession was a real thing that happened. MOST horror films have innocent characters that become monsters.
Deadites aren't monsters, they're possessed ppl. The Exorcist, every zombie film, half of the Cenobites, even Candyman were all innocent.
Nikki is not a horror villain, she was a victim of SA. this is not a movie that needs to be at halloween horror nights. save it for slasher films or movies with actual Hero/Villain roles like Evil Dead or Friday the 13th as opposed to victim/abuser roles @UniversalORL
I would love to see what Ridley Scott does with a David film.
But... It's clear he's far more interested in David than Alien. Let him make David films and get someone else makes a sequel to Romulus. These are basically two completely different franchises at this point.
Seriously considering dumping @ATTHelp as soon as possible. I get stuck on hold forever to solve even simple issues and my wifi goes out like clockwork every weekend.
But hey... NEW customers get to pay half of what I do! So there's that at least.

There is no generative AI in Beyond the Spider-Verse and there never will be. One of the main goals of the films is to create new visual styles that have never been seen in a studio CG film, not steal the generic plagiarized average of other artists’ work.
Dear @SonyAnimation.
Keep generative AI away from Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse.
AI robs people of their jobs & produces nothing but slop. We don’t want that anywhere near this film or any film for that matter.
Please keep it away from the filmmaking process. Thank you.
You could move to New York City.
Walk out your door at 2am for a bacon egg and cheese and not think twice about it. Get on a subway that takes you from a mosque to a synagogue to a cathedral to a noodle shop that's been slinging the same bowl since 1987, all in twelve blocks. Watch strangers from four different continents argue about a parking spot in a language that is somehow entirely made of hand gestures.
Sit in a park designed 170 years ago by geniuses who wanted you, specifically, to have somewhere green to sit. Catch a Tuesday night set from a musician who's about to be enormous, in a room that fits eighty people. Walk past a building where somebody invented something, or wrote something, or changed something, roughly every four minutes, whether you notice or not.
Realize your commute is also a people-watching seminar, a smell-based cultural exchange program, and free comedy.
Order the good pizza at 1am standing up, off a paper plate, next to a guy in a tux and a guy who clearly just got off a double shift, both getting the same slice with the same reverence.
Pay too much for too little space and get, in exchange, eleven million other people's worth of energy pointed directly at your life every single day.
Move to Iowa. Get the four bedrooms, the garage, the yard. Never again have a 3am conversation with a stranger that changes how you think about something. Never walk into a museum on a random Wednesday because it's just there. Never get that specific electric feeling of being one tiny gear in the greatest machine humans have ever built.
But hey. At least parking's easy.
You could move to New York City.
Rent an 852-square-foot apartment for $5,503 a month.
Blow $500 on three “first dates” a week and somehow remain single for six years.
Finally meet someone you like, then discover they’re “not really looking for anything serious right now.”
Get a master’s degree so you can qualify for an internship.
Apply to 147 jobs, get 93 automated rejections, and finally find an “entry-level” position requiring five years of experience.
Eventually land a six-figure job and still need a roommate to make rent.
Pay federal income tax, New York State income tax, AND New York City income tax because apparently living there is a three-level subscription.
Learn that a “quiet neighborhood” means the sirens only come by every 20 minutes.
Pay $27 every day for a sandwich (no sides) because the place has exposed brick and a handwritten menu.
Take the subway to work every morning and develop the useful skill of pretending not to notice absolutely anything happening around you.
Spend 45 minutes traveling three miles.
Carry your groceries home six blocks because parking near your apartment is more of a philosophical concept than an actual possibility.
Have “owning a washer and dryer” become one of your primary measures of generational wealth.
Walk past a mountain of trash bags on your way to a restaurant with a Michelin star.
Tell your friends back home you don’t need a car while spending $46 on an Uber because the subway is delayed again.
Go to Central Park when you want to remember what trees look like.
Spend your twenties telling everyone you could NEVER live anywhere else.
Then one day you visit your cousin in Iowa.
He has a house with four bedrooms, a garage, a yard, two cars, four kids, and somehow pays less than you do for the apartment where your refrigerator touches your couch.
But hey.
The NYC bagels are incredible.
