How does he teach to compensate for lack of reach on outside pitches while doing this?
I get that being tall helps, but I'm genuinely curious because it looks like he's purposely shortening and locking in the lever before the swing even starts.

One of the worst things about the HLP swing, and there are many, is that @Teacherman1986 and his minions like @thewheelhousenj focus on Launch Quickness but when the hitter has no foundation and no balance the quickness doesn’t provide enough force into the ball!
Just being quick by itself doesn’t work as evidenced by this kid’s swing.
I bet this ball didn’t go 250 feet because he just flicked the bat without anything behind it.
Anyone can hit smoosh ball’s with a light bat and pretend like they’re crushing balls but can you hit real baseballs with a 31 or 32 ounce bat???

This is the type of HIGH LEVEL HLP training being taught by @thewheelhousenj the guy who hit (.186) in college and throws like a girl.
This does kinda look like fun but it has zero value in helping this kid becoming a better hitter.
Great hitters shift their weight and that’s undeniable.
Find a qualified instructor folks!
