Season 1 kicks off at 9PM PT/12am ET with new content, gameplay updates, and a fresh round of fixes and improvements across Multiplayer and DMZ. Here's what's coming. ⬇️
MULTIPLAYER
• New round of weapon tuning
• Gameplay adjustments and numerous bug fixes across Weapons, Modes, Killstreaks, Audio, and more
• Four maps: Backstab, Canyon, Shoot House, and Kill Block: Crash
• Grind and Drop Zone join the mode rotation
• Two new weapons: Cronen Osprey and CSG-35
• Additional maps, modes, and weapons coming throughout Season 1
DMZ
• X01 Black Site opens in Hajin with new Orders, threats, and equipment
• FOB updates including a new Vendor, 3D Printer functionality, and updated Boss Board intel
• Fixes across missions, progression, loot & vehicles
• Threat Briefing: Battle Tank Event with new challenges and rewards

For everyone mad at @CallofDuty we need to come together on SBMM. There’s no need to fix movement, maps, guns, or anything else until Classic Matchmaking exists because every game will be boring. Yes there are problems, but we are all playing a different game right now.

Well let's see...
MW fans didn't get their usual maps or TTK.
No new/returning MP features such as: destruction, advanced movement, new weapon classes, gunsmith changes, new create-a-class, new perks, combat pacing, pro perks, detachable suppressor, Pick 10, NVG, support streaks, vehicles, turrets, classic CoD Points, character customization, so on, such forth...
Back to usual SBMM levels without classic/Open Matchmaking 👎👎👎
Ignoring core audience while promoting gimmick game modes and catering to professional players.
The first gameplay showcase was blurry random Killblock gameplay.
The MP beta was 2 entirely different video games.
Slowly launching the game from the 16th-23rd undercut the hype a little bit.
No loyalty discount on standard edition.
No dedicated PVE Co-Op mode.
Killed Open Matchmaking for no good reason. (Worth mentioning twice)
Basically, a strong foundation without any "new car smell" that could have made the franchise interesting to return to.

@CallofDuty and @InfinityWard you need to remove SBMM. Then add maps like Terminal, Highrise, Resistance, Dome, Estate, and the other great maps from your games. You don’t know what kind of effect it will have unless you genuinely try it.

@InfinityWard has not made a good game since Modern Warfare 3 in 2011. Remember most of the OG Infinity Ward team left to create Titanfall at Respawn Entertainment. Would you still buy any other product that hasn’t delivered in 15 years? #MW4isAss #FixCOD2026
Haven’t played MW4 in a week. I won’t be playing it again until @CallofDuty and @InfinityWard address the only problems we care about. They said they would listen and they aren’t. Not shocked by that just disappointed. Classic matchmaking and good maps would go a long way.

Things that made Call of Duty lobbies feel alive:
- Mic spam
- Same 12 kids all night
- Host migration
- "One more game"
- Rage quits that meant something

The irony of SBMM defenders accusing good players of wanting easier lobbies while demanding a system that keeps better players out of theirs is hilarious.
We want random matchmaking. You want easier competition guaranteed.

It boils down to nothing being impressive anymore. Good clip or good gameplay, doesn’t matter
It’s the algorithm throwing the player a bone. Ever clip will get the same response
“Why don’t they shoot back” or “my lobbies don’t look like this” even though the circumstance was out of your control
With classic matchmaking, everyone was on the same playing field so everything was impressive. Now it just feels fake
