Memo to the Trump administration: Stop buying companies.
A government $40 trillion in debt should be SELLING assets, not buying ownership stakes in 36 companies.
We thought government control of the means of production was what we were fighting against.

California wasted billions of dollars of cap & trade gas tax money on unusable electric transit vehicles. This keeps happening because the state is deeply corrupt, especially when it partners with non-profits as it did in this case.

The elected County Executive, who will make a salary of roughly $558,000 and not have term limits, will be one of the most powerful and highly paid politicians in the entire state of California. This presents a clear conflict of interest for every member of our @LACountyBOS, which is why I made a pledge not to run for the position. I'm calling on my colleagues to do the same. I am an "all of the above" housing guy at this point. But it needs to be said:
No one builds "affordable cars". Used cars are just new cars that got old. Same goes for housing.
We don't have affordable housing today, because we didn't build market rate housing yesterday.
We’re working to solve California’s housing crisis.
It was a pleasure to join Assemblymember @BuffyWicks, labor, local elected officials, and community members who are turning this site in El Cerrito into housing: public land next to a BART station, a 100% affordable building, homes built in a factory, and union labor on the job. It’s the first phase of a plan to turn BART parking lots into 743 homes.
This is what building housing the right way looks like. Every Californian deserves a home they can afford, close to where they work.

Congrats California…my second ballot. Two different counties. Don't worry. I only vote once. This is the second time California has sent me two ballots.
No wonder we can't figure out Covid fraud, EDD, mental health programs, education, a damn high speed train, basic infrastructure, etc.
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

My friend @jenvanlaar making a great point to @randywangradio right now—Motor Voter is the poisoned tree of California's elections.

NEW: Los Angeles County elections officials confirm in court filing that they have no way to verify U.S. citizenship for voters and they rely solely on a voter’s attestation when they check yes or no to being a U.S. citizen under penalty of perjury. This is part of ongoing lawsuit w/ Feds.
Massive concession: Los Angeles election officials just told a federal court they have no independent way to verify citizenship beyond what voters attest. (They simply take their word for it.) Under federal law, only citizens may vote in federal elections. Yet California has not acted on the list of 20,000 suspected noncitizens or agreed to set aside their ballots. American citizens’ votes are being diluted in California.

Sacramento doubled the state budget in a decade while millions left and results got worse — and Prop 40’s retroactive billionaire tax has already driven a trillion dollars of wealth out of California.
We don’t need more taxes for ever-expanding government; I’ll cut waste, cancel high-speed rail, and deliver no state income tax on your first $150k.
JUST TRY IT. ☀️👊

“If California can't enforce basic travel and staffing requirements, who's watching the quarter billion dollars Choudri agreed to pay just four consultants over two years?
And what, exactly, are taxpayers getting for that money?”

Tell it to @Schwarzenegger. He governed the nation’s most populous state without a single problem regarding his dual citizenship. This is a desperate distraction effort.

🚨 JUST NOW: Texas Senate candidate Ken Paxton just said it's time to END dual citizenship for members of Congress
"If we're gonna elect people, they need to be COMMITTED to the United States."
"If they've got other allegiances, WE GOT A PROBLEM. We CANNOT allow that in our elected representatives!" — Paxton to @bennyjohnson
He's right.
And this must apply to EVERY COUNTRY. American only 🇺🇸
In fact, this should be the bare minimum.

Senator, the Social Security fund you'd create would not be available to pay benefits for another 75 years - until the next century. With a projected budget deficit of $200 trillion over the next 30 years, we can't wait that long before a debt crisis.

Congressman, France currently offers all of this and they still burnt down the state and yet you want more government? Thats the problem not the solution.
✅ Government health insurance for everyone
✅ State-run pensions
✅ Government unemployment insurance
✅ Monthly child allowances and childcare aid
✅ Taxpayer-funded rent subsidies
✅ A guaranteed minimum income
✅ A state-owned national railroad
The youth are tired. Tired of this over regulated, corrupt centralized BS they’ve been fed by their government.
The answer is less not more.
From the high schools of France to the streets of Madrid to the universities of Tirana, young people are telling their governments the same thing: in an age of massive wealth inequality, they want a future they can believe in.
In France, students and teachers are asking for safe schools, enough teachers and smaller classes.
In Spain, for affordable rent and housing.
In Albania, for good jobs and an end to corruption.
@JDVance says this is what happens when a nation lets in too many immigrants from the global south.
He is not just morally wrong, but misreading the moment.
The is what happens when nations let wealth and power accumulate in the hands of a few.
This is what happens when young people lose hope in their future.
In America, let us listen to our young.
We need an economic and political transformation.

Another way to think of this chart: Republican donors are prioritizing saving the Senate over the House
NEW: All that Republican money?
It's almost exclusively giving the GOP an edge in Senate TV ad spending — the spend in the House is practically equal.
