So, yesterday I filed a lawsuit against Ron DeSantis, the governor of Florida, over his executive order that strips from local school districts the authority to make reasonable rules protecting the health and safety of our kids. It’s a little more nuanced but that’s the gist

🚨Byron Donalds says he wants to see Hyperscale Data Centers in rural counties all over Florida. Calls objections to building data centers “hyperbole”. Donalds has taken tens of millions of dollars from Big Tech.

James Uthmeier thinks the government should decide whether, when, and how you have children. Your family. Your future. Your decision. I’m running for Florida Attorney General to keep it that way and get James Uthmeier out of your doctor’s office.
On a podcast with an anti-abortion activist, @AGJamesUthmeier boasted he would "use every tool in his office" to eliminate all abortion clinics in FL and discussed his efforts to use an obscure family court case to push for "fetal personhood." @CBSMiami cbsnews.com/miami/news/flori…

Scott (@SangerEatbabies) and I do not follow each other, but I have seen him in my feed throughout this election cycle. I have visited his page, and I see the part of Florida he identifies with. While we may stand on opposite sides of the political spectrum, I recognize that we share something important. We both appear to live in unincorporated areas of Florida. Places without city councils, city commissions, or municipal governments. Our first line of defense against development that threatens the communities we have chosen to call home is our county government, followed by the state. And there is a reason we chose to live in these communities. We appreciate the rural character of Florida. The natural beauty. The undeveloped land. The small businesses. The quiet roads. The wildlife. The parts of this state that have not been swallowed up by concrete, corporate development, and endless construction. We want to preserve those things for generations to come. What some of you fail to understand is that protecting our communities is not a partisan issue. When government opens the door for developers, data centers, and powerful corporate interests to encroach on the places we call home, you should expect resistance. And that resistance will not always come from one political party. Republicans, Democrats, and Independents can disagree on just about everything happening in Washington or Tallahassee and still stand shoulder to shoulder when someone threatens the land, resources, and communities we love. This is a people-over-party moment. We are not interested in watching Big Tech and wealthy developers use their political influence to transform rural Florida into something its residents never asked for. And that brings me to @ByronDonalds. Byron has benefited from significant financial support from wealthy corporate interests. Floridians have every right to question what those donors expect in return. What happens when the interests of those financing his political ambitions collide with the interests of the people who actually live here? Whose side will he be on? Perhaps some of you have become so comfortable with corporate influence in politics that you no longer recognize the problem. But many Floridians have not. Some of us still shop at mom-and-pop stores. We still appreciate driving down roads lined with trees instead of warehouses. We still value undeveloped land, clean water, wildlife, and beaches that have not been commercialized beyond recognition. We do not see those things as wasted economic opportunities. We see them as Florida. And we are not willing to sacrifice them simply because someone with a large checkbook sees an opportunity to make another million dollars. That is why you should not be surprised when voters who have historically supported Republicans begin questioning whether Byron Donalds represents their interests. You may see this election through the lens of red versus blue. We see it through the lens of protecting our homes, our communities, our natural resources, and the Florida we want our children and grandchildren to inherit. Our votes will be intentional. Our opposition will be intentional. And our willingness to stand alongside people we disagree with politically will be intentional. Because at the end of the day, Byron Donalds does not get to define what Florida should become. The people who live here deserve that voice. And if protecting Florida means Democrats and Republicans standing together against corporate interests, then perhaps that is exactly what needs to happen. You’re seeing communities over corporations. People over party. Perhaps it’s time you wake up.
You’re such a plant and so silly. 🤪 Lil Jolly earned your vote by doing nothing, feeding you talking points while staying at Ritz Carlton. If that’s what it took you are a mile wide and and inch deep. No one has worked harder and spoke to real Floridians than @ByronDonalds.

Republicans have had 27 straight years to do this. Donalds is not the guy.
We are going to make Florida more affordable. To the young patriots in Ft. Myers and across this state — we are going to cut costs so that you can buy a house, start a family, and live the Florida Dream.

José Javier Rodríguez lost his Florida Senate seat by just 32 votes in 2020 after a GOP-linked scheme used a paid candidate with his last name to confuse voters. A former Republican senator went to jail for this. Jose is a Harvard-educated attorney and former U.S. Assistant Secretary of Labor, he’s now running for Florida Attorney General to fight crime and corruption. Florida voters deserve to know the truth.

Moody voted for Trump's Big Ugly Bill, slashing Medicaid, and voted against stopping Trump's war.  Ashley, you and your Republican colleagues are a big reason Floridians are struggling to make ends meet. And in two weeks, we're going to vote you out. #AngieForFlorida

Aside from the shocking substance of this story, what's amazing is how it was unearthed by Cole. The short version: The Russians were able to penetrate Jared Kushner's iPhone and extract screenshots and data. Then, a Russian intel official was captured by Dutch intelligence (!) and flipped. The Dutch believed Kushner may have been acting on behalf of Russia, so pursued him as an intel target and were able to get into his phone. They did not find any evidence of Russian collusion, instead they watched him moving hundreds of millions of dollars from slush funds created by Saudi Arabia and the UAE, one of them housed in Israel's central bank. Incredible reporting, and if Democrats have any sense, they will pull on these threads and learn a lot more about this money.
Explosive story many years in the making, now out in Vanity Fair by Matthew Cole (who will be on Breaking Points next week, and publishing soon in @DropSiteNews): Saudi Arabia and the UAE set up multi-billion slush funds for Jared Kushner to use. Iran-Contra 2 here (except with Iran-Contra, at least the US got some hostages released. Not clear what we got out of this one.)

I like how my iPhone semi-correctly identifies my older rescue dog as a Yorkshire terrier (his birth mother was a chihuahua?) and my younger one as just “dog.”

A grand jury found that the James Uthmeier-led DeSantis administration misappropriated $10 million of Medicaid money in 2024 as part of a sophisticated scheme to fund political activities. You know how I know that? Because the First District Court of Appeal disclosed it.
