he could be a 20year-er
Not necessarily the point of the feature, but big news in here for Cannons fans. Holman says he plans to sign a one year deal with Boston. He will be back for a remarkable 15th professional season.

Really cool story out of Bucknell. Zach Hepworth is a Division I faceoff specialist who decided he wanted to run cross country too. He trained himself into a 4:22 mile, joined the cross-country team and set a program record in Bucknell lacrosse’s 1.5-mile fitness test. But what I really enjoyed was Coach Frank Fedorjaka’s perspective. He initially had reservations about the additional commitment. Understandably. Then he recognized how much it meant to Zach and supported him. We spend so much time thinking about what players can give to our programs. Sometimes developing the person means supporting something that doesn’t directly belong to our program at all. Great reminder that we’re coaching people, not just positions. usalacrosse.com/magazine/buc…

Hello internet. If you’d take 30 seconds to vote for Ryder to send him to Sandiego for @Comic_Con we can help a young man who’s had a rough go. thesuperkid.org/2026/ryder-d…

Furthermore. I expect the grim reality of teams rescinding offers to 27's who have been coasting to afford those spots to keep 5th.
rough estimate, about 750 seniors in college mens lacrosse. Let's assume 2028 recruiting per d1 team w/48m cap is 6-8 per. Low assumption of 50% of seniors do a 5th that gets close/completely eclipses the entire 2028 class of 468-624 spots. will repeat for at least 5 years. obviously making a lot of assumptions other schools even want these kids at end of day but taking a adult man is easier than taking an unproven kid. I am not entirely sure club lacrosse doesn't collapse on itself with this math. too many kids, not enough spots or churn. People already turn their nose up at d3 if it's not nescac. either kids play d3/low d1 and use as the proving ground to transfer up or the the whole system collapses under the financial weight of itself not being worth the squeeze for families anymore. I think option 2.

The 5-in-5 era in lacrosse is here. Near entire classes of Ivy League players hit the portal this morning, all looking for a 5th year home in 2028.

From first overall pick to one of the game’s greats. 👏 Ryan Benesch has announced his retirement after 19 years in the National Lacrosse League, scoring 633 goals across 323 regular-season and playoff games. Thank you, @beniboi21. 👏
