At some point ya gotta start saying extraordinary evidence requires extraordinary claims
Did you know when Orthodox missionaries sailed to Alaska in the early 1800s, they were amazed to find the Aleut people already prepared to meet them? Apparently, their shaman had given them a prophecy from two angels who said God’s people were coming to teach them the full Truth.

"Go tell the hornets, stranger passing by ..."
These hornets attacked his Bee hive. Now he is waiting for them on the outside.

This is hilarious, and it's a corollary to the tendency of lit professors to assign novels that are discussible over those that are merely great.
i think about this image a lot

what's really, really funny about this is that they studied this exact thing in monkeys before & TLDR the monkeys would in fact put their top monkeys on a magazine cover & even surrender their own bananas to see him. 🍌🦧 oo ooo EEE ee 🦍

okay but to some people line go up is more fun that minecraft
just heard someone say "people are more important than the economy" and it occurred to me that some people genuinely believe that others care about the economy because they like numbers going up and not because it drives living standards for the population

... and now we're all reading about it. Which proves the baker's marketing instincts are GENIUS.
This is an insane story, but it's 100% true. A WHILE AGO, I went to a local bakery. I ordered a cake, and it was beautiful. Then the bakery asked if I'd like to sign up for their newsletter. I said yes, because I also run a newsletter, and I want to see how other people run their newsletters. Ya know, to make sure I'm not face-planting into a wall because I'm doing it poorly. I figured, what's the worst that could happen? I'll get occasional pictures of fun cakes? That's fine. I'm down with that. That was the thinking of poor, naive Shami... Before she glimpsed upon the insanity that is the Bakery Newsletter. The first newsletter I received started with a plot twist. Newsletter, first sentence: "Ever since I was framed in 2019, I have been on a mission to prove my innocence." Me: o_O Newsletter: "People were sent to kill me and my child." Me: 🫥 Newsletter: "This week, I finally got to the point where I don't accept or even look at the opinions of cowards anymore." I seriously thought I had received the wrong email. There isn't a mention of cake. BUT NOPE. It has the bakery's logo, and it's sent from an obvious newsletter source. Maybe it was the intern. Poor, sad intern that was about to get fired. Because this is obviously not the stuff for a bakery newsletter, right? It's not just me? (A part of me though, "whoa, my newsletters are nothing like this. Maybe I should spice things up" >.>) THE NEXT NEWSLETTER was crazier. Newsletter: "I fell off a truck a week ago and injured my arm pretty badly." Me: Okay. Newsletter: "I have so many love letters from you guys cheering me on. I have kept every single one." Me: o_O Newsletter: "I need this new life you guys." No mention of cakes, or baking. No cupcake photos. No events listed. Nothing to do with bakery. LATEST NEWSLETTER... I'm just at a loss for words. Newsletter: "About a year ago I decided I wanted a sexy female friend who I could create art with." Me: Oh, here's the love sub-pot to this story. *grabs popcorn* Newsletter: "She would be extremely attractive, intelligent, a mother, confident.... and a master manifestor like me." Me: o_O Newsletter: "Everyday I visualized her." Me: *crossing fingers* Please God, don't let this turn pornographic. Newsletter: "Down to her features and how she would talk to me. It took almost a year and a series of serendipities with the divine guiding us both to each other. I actually had to turn down a lot of women before I could get to her. She's Persephone from the Matrix and I'm Beatrix from Kill Bill." TODAY, I get another email from her newsletter (which she has switched her name to read as "your sewage" [not making this up]). Newsletter HEADING: contractors can suck my big fat dirty balls. It devolves from there. o.o I just... figured I should share with people. Someone is losing their mind in real-time through a newsletter (I wonder how many people are reading it?) and I'm not certain what I should do...

This is the Oxyrhynchus Hymn, dated to the late 200s AD. It is the earliest known Christian hymn manuscript with both lyrics and musical notation. A plain English rendering of the surviving words: “Let all creation be silent. Let the shining stars be still. Let the rushing winds and rivers cease. While we sing to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, let every power answer: Amen, amen. Strength, praise, and glory forever to God, the only giver of all good things. Amen, amen.”

I'm probably the last person to ask this question, but what improvements to Planet X searches can we expect from AI?
Meet our Solar System's newest dwarf planet candidate: 2026 ED138! Orbiting past Pluto, scientists found it in NSF–DOE Rubin Observatory data from earlier in 2026. Early analysis suggests it's 600–1500 km across, one of the largest found past Neptune! 🔗 rubinobservatory.org/news/ru…

New federal law: each of these cryptids should be the mascot of the largest university in its state. Except Michigan. Dogman was a known hoax from inception and wolverines are larger than life anyway.
Every state has its monster. Your car breaks down on a country road at 2 a.m. Which one are you praying stays in the woods?

This is why you should follow Aaron. Out of a fear of abusing power, most Midwesterners/middle class normies/Evangelicals will simply avoid thinking about power and how it works. But everyone needs to know this stuff, if only to protect themselves from manipulation.
I disagree with "Drunk Wisconsin" here. The actual elites by and large are coastal. The urbanites who seek to resemble them in other cities are non-elite epigones. drunkwisconsin.substack.com/…

The correct framing is that burgeoning male writers are not receiving investment - particularly in the literary genre. It is not suppression. It is neglect. Male writers just go Indy. The complaints that 'men don't read' by the Lithub Handwringers, should be understood to actually mean, 'men don't read contemporary authors we think they should read.' Solving the impasse without changing the investment structure would require a concerted effort of male writers to embrace the monoculture and become self-hating woke stenographers, or for men to stop rereading classics and put down the video games and read books that were not written for them, by them, or about them.
"Today, the Big Five publishers are staffed almost entirely by women. According to the most recent data, more than 70 percent of staffers are women. More than 70 percent of editors are women. Even 70 percent of all interns are women. At the executive level, more than 60 percent of leaders are women. In 2026, American publishing looks like lululemon."
