So disappointing. Seems the PGA is afraid their players can't handle the short game smoke. Long bomb tracks are like home run derbies: fun to watch once a year. Nobody wants a solo diet of that.

I’ve admired so much of Jon Tyson’s ministry up close and from afar for a while now. His newsletter is worth subscribing to even if just for the rest of today’s email. It’s so good. jontyson.org/newsletter

Let’s not call something a revival when the outcome doesn’t produce people who look like; sound like; live like; and love like Jesus.
Vintage Mike Leach. Absolute genius right up until the last minute when it all falls apart. Almond Joy is not a serious answer.
No opinion on Samuel Sey (I’ve literally never heard of him). But I’m hearing an increased number of stories, some firsthand, of people who thought they were following the rules - some w/current green cards - being detained and intimidated or deported. Thats a problem.
It was a really fun honor to sit down with my friend @scottbarfoot and talk about succession, resilience as a leader and pastoring in a polarized culture. Check out his podcast. He’s the real deal. youtu.be/yHpmWsIZ70U
There is a guy wearing two N95 masks… and also flip flops… in an airport restroom… while the PSA plays about what to do if you see something suspicious. We’re calling the number for that, right?

Yes. Every Christian should steward their citizenship wisely. I believe every Christian should vote. But the vote doesn’t begin in November every two years. It begins earlier. In primaries. In showing up and choosing the best candidate who matches character and policy. In local elections. In the things you choose to speak out about and those things you choose to be silent about.
If your only framework for politics is two weeks in November, you are not that engaged. You are disengaged.
With respect, this is a false dilemma (for either side of the aisle). Voters ought to be able to demand that those who represent us… represent us. Platform AND posture. End AND means.

More Vance: "I’m a little bit disgusted when I see Republicans across the country who are whining more about that advertisement than they are about what the congressional Democrats and other Democrats want to do to the United States of America. So I would say to Ohio Republicans, Do you actually think that Amy Acton is unfit to serve as the governor of Ohio? I do."

Elon Musk flips a vehicle upside down and everyone claps and cheers. But when I do it, suddenly I'm "recklessly endangering children" and "unfit to be a school bus driver".
If I were part of a conspiracy to further ensure the demise of college football, this would be the next logical step for us.

Davey Johnson asked me to learn to catch.
My first reaction: Why?
He looked at me and said, "I think it'll add value to you. And I think it'll let you see the game from a lens you've never seen before."
I trusted Davey. So I said yes.
Here's what I didn't understand until I got behind the plate:
Before becoming a catcher I was always looking in. I was watching from a distance.
Behind the plate, the whole game opens up.
Everyone is out in front of you. You can read every hitter's swing. You're building a relationship with every pitcher. You see the defensive alignment. You understand strategy from a completely different angle.
It changed everything about how I understood baseball.
And it changed what I thought I could do next.
I finally stopped trying to squeeze more out of a playing career that had run its course. I started thinking about coaching. About managing.
A few years later I was a minor league manager.
I don't think I get anywhere close to that without Davey Johnson asking me to learn a position I had no business playing and without me trusting him enough to say yes.
Two questions worth sitting with today:
Is there someone in your life who's earned your trust enough that you'd say yes to almost anything they suggested?
And is there a lens on your work you've never looked through?
