BIG NEWS: FCC Chairman @BrendanCarrFCC is allowing prisons and jails the power to jam contraband cellphones.
Criminals are using these illegal phones to order hits, run drug operations, and exploit children, all from behind bars.
APS applauds this important step to protect correctional officers, crime victims, and our communities.
Being behind bars should mean an END to criminal activity, not business as usual.
MAKING AMERICA SAFE AGAIN 🇺🇸
Today, I announced the FCC will vote to authorize prisons to jam contraband cellphones for the first time ever.
Almost 500,000 inmates now have access to them and 25,000 phones are seized in jails annually.
Inmates are using them at exceptionally high rates to order hits, run drug operations, enable CSAM abuse of young kids, and many more awful acts.
We are now giving state and local prisons & jails a tool they’ve been denied for years.
Grateful for the chance to get this across the finish line.
Georgia deserves serious leaders focused on supporting victims and giving law enforcement the resources needed to keep communities safe.
I believe Rick Jackson is the man for this job and proud to have cast my vote for him to be our next governor! #RickJackson #Georgia

I held my breath for this entire story, expecting the outcome to be what it is for so many trafficked children.
And that is what WOULD have happened to Allie if Flock hadn't tracked the abductor.
I admit I was once an anti-Flock alarmist—I didn't like the dystopian-looking poles that went up at major intersections in my area.
I began "liking" IG videos about people destroying Flock cameras in the UK.
Then I did something I should have done from the start: I took the time to *learn about them.*
And then I realized how stupid I had been.
I encourage you to do the same.
Allie was the picture of a typical 12-year-old girl—pink-and-white-striped shirt, blue jeans, and a PINK backpack, blond hair askew—the day she was taken. She later told police she thought she was meeting a 15-year-old boy, whom she’d first spoken to online and with whom she expected to be in a relationship. Instead, when Allie (whose name I’ve changed for this story, and whose image I've anonymized with @grok for this post) climbed into the black Chevy Malibu that afternoon, she found 31-year-old Brandon Britten. He drove them across three states, to his home in Independence County, Arkansas. Britten and his wife Sierra had conspired to abduct Allie, police allege, talking with her online for a month and even soliciting nude images. Upon returning home, Sierra told police, Brandon had “taken the child back into their bedroom while she slept in their young son’s bedroom.”
Back in Woodruff, North Carolina, law enforcement began a fevered hunt for Allie. They thought she had gone to Arkansas or Texas, Spartansburg County sheriff Bill Rhyne told me, but were at “a dead standstill” until they found a surveillance-camera image of Allie entering the car. They fed a description of the vehicle—they had no license plate—into Flock Safety’s license plate reader database, which can track cars based on their appearance. “Without [Flock’s] technology, we would be at a complete standstill,” Rhyne told local media.
After a few hours of combing the results, investigators found further images of Britten’s car, driving south through Alabama and into Arkansas. At 3 p.m., Spartansburg called the Independence County Sheriff’s Office; 90 minutes later, police had arrested the Brittens and recovered Allie.
“I was able to locate the minor in a back bathroom with her face and hands against the wall shaking,” Lt. Zach Rawlins wrote in a sworn statement. “After telling her who I was, the minor thanked me for coming to get her, and said she wanted her momma.”
America is gripped by a panic over Flock’s network of automated license plate readers (ALPRs), driven by stories of abusive cops and people wrongly jailed because of what critics call a creeping surveillance state.
Largely absent from this discussion are stories like Allie’s, which is not unique: dozens of other children have been returned safely to their parents thanks in part to ALPR technology.
Read about those children in my latest @CityJournal:

Early voting ends Friday. We must get our friends & family out to vote this week—the future of our state & our country depends on it!
.@houstongaines: "Keisha Lance Bottoms... she literally let the city of Atlanta burn. If we don't get our friends and our family out to vote, what would she do if she was our Governor?"

Don't miss the conversation with @Frusso15 as he shares what you need to know about combatting modern human trafficking in America.
Human trafficking is not just happening across our borders. It’s happening in our communities, often hidden in plain sight.
Thankful to @family_policy for the opportunity to discuss the work being done to end modern day slavery on the Family Policy Alliance Report!

Human trafficking isn't just a movie trope or an international issue. It is a domestic reality fueled by force, fraud, and coercion. In the digital age, exploitation often starts right at home, hiding in plain sight behind screens and apps. #Awareness #HumanTrafficking

Sen. Slotkin, a self-avowed “defender of democracy,” told me and other conservative students that we should live in fear of political persecution if we dare serve our country in the Trump administration. Sadly for her, we will never be intimidated by her Bolshevik-style tactics.
ON UCHICAGO CAMPUS: U.S. Senator from Michigan Elissa Slotkin hopes planned political prosecutions of republican leaders will scare young conservatives from getting involved in politics.
