If there was a Mount Rushmore of ball writers, Ross Newhan would be on it. He was a giant in the biz, a Hall-of-Famer who spent much of his 43-year career covering @MLB for the LA Times. He was a mentor to myself and so many others, a friend to all. Ross died today at 89. RIP💔

Could Carl Willis reunite with Terry Francona in Cincinnati?
The Guardians pitching coach told @GDubMLB that Francona would be the reason he'd consider joining the Reds.
Willis, 65, is on a year-to-year agreement in Cleveland and previously pitched for the Reds from 1984-86.
