I went to get an elective MRI for my back just to see if things have improved. No pain, no doctor's note.
At checkout, I hand over my old tourist Emirates ID, fully prepared to pay. The guy said, you have a new local Emirates ID now, right? I hand over the new one. The guy said, it's free. Welcome to UAE.

There is $10 trillion in AI data center capex that can't be built because the grid can't deliver the power, not for lack of money. GPU manufacturing through 2030 demands roughly 230 gigawatts. The US grid can deliver about 100. We brought in Ramez Naam to answer one question: how do we power the singularity?
-- Even Texas, the most aggressive grid in the country, can't deliver hundreds of megawatts before 2031.
-- The four paths to a terawatt of AI: deserts with solar and batteries, fission or fusion, the oceans, or space.
-- Southern Ocean data centers: wave-powered, free cooling, 2¢/kWh target, built in factories. Three in the water.
-- Battery costs have dropped 14x since 2010. Sodium-ion could drop them another 10x. A solar + battery plant in the UAE now costs $6/watt.

They carry long sticks while moving through the Omo Valley, partly to help spot and avoid snakes in the tall grass.
Nature plays on hard mode out there.

New! What if aging is a symptom of cells losing the ability to read their genome - and there’s a reset switch?
That’s the idea behind the Information Theory of Aging (ITOA)
A new paper @NatureComms by Cohen et al provides strong support for the model & its reversibility 🧵👇

A humanoid robot will cost us $30K and works 24/7 for $0.40/hour. A solar panel generates electricity for 3 cents/kWh. What exactly is the argument that we CAN'T create abundance?

No one, presently, sees the Moon rotate like this.
That's because the Earth's moon is tidally locked to the Earth, showing us only one side.
However, the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter has this view: a full Moon rotation.

A USGS study confirms Earth’s crust holds ~6 trillion tons of natural hydrogen. If we recover just 2% of global reserves, we can power civilization for the next 200 years.
Mali has enough natural hydrogen to prove this potential can power the Earth for the next two centuries.
Imagine this: there are more robots walking around than humans… and they cost less than a car
That’s the bet.
In the next couple of decades, humanoid robots could scale into the billions, not as sci-fi props, but as everyday workers. And at a price point of $20K–$25K, that changes everything.
