Bumble on the delights of outground cricket
🏏 "You play at an outground and it's an event... It's great for the public because it's intimate... When you walk round the ground, there's a buzz."

Lovely article about a hugely important and successful project
"When I first visited Fleet Moss in 2018, it was like Mad Max with mud; now it is verdant, squelching, shimmering with life"

Very sad to report that Dad died this morning after a long and brave fight with ill-health. Mum was with him, and he wasn't in pain. We're all very upset but will reflect on his life with great love and pride.

“I’m very surprised that England have tapped him on the shoulder & said you’ve got one more Test & that’s it.
He’s probably the best to ever play the game as a fast bowler”

What a day! Site visit to Carrifran wildwood in Dumfries to see this incredible 25 year old re-wilding scheme. Beautiful and inspirational. Huge thanks to @BordersForest for hosting us
Always nice to re-visit tree planting schemes I've worked on. Burblethwaite and Charleton Gill, northern Lake District 15 years after planting
Brilliant, Paul. Now he was a special captain.

Today marks 1 year with Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia. Still tired/breathless, but OK and improving prognosis. Thanks to GP for early
blood tests, brilliant Lancaster/Kendal cancer staff, friends,
family, workmates, and especially Fiona. Hope to get back up some big hills soon!
Excellent piece on #Winterwatch - well done Pete
So proud of our Wildlife Supporter Officer Pete Lau and all the fantastic work he does to champion accessibility in the outdoors, including on our Adel Dam reserve. Make sure to check out his website accessiblenatureuk.com/.

This is what lowland raised mire looks like after it's been milled for compost. It should be a vibrant, green, squelching matt of moss absolutely humming with life. Please go #PeatFree - peat belongs in a bog and not in a bag. Photo credit: Jules Anderton

Excellent @YorksWildlife volunteers brushcutting and raking areas of the small, but beautiful, Seata Quarry nature reserve today. This work will maintain the site's wildflower and butterfly interest. Visit on a still, hot day, in summer to see it at its best!
