LIGHTNING LABS LAUNCHES WAVELENGTH ON BITCOIN MAINNET, ENABLING AI AGENTS TO MAKE AUTONOMOUS PAYMENTS Lightning Labs has opened Wavelength to everyone, allowing AI agents to send and receive Bitcoin payments over Lightning without human approval for each transaction. Agents can autonomously pay for API calls, purchase data, and transact with other agents for fractions of a cent using Lightning and L402, without credit cards, accounts, or API keys. Developers can integrate payments into apps without running Lightning nodes, managing channels, or sourcing liquidity. The self-custodial toolkit supports independent on-chain exits, with initial limits of 300,000 sats per wallet and a 0.25% service fee on Lightning payments. Wavelength remains in alpha, with stablecoin support planned.

Final Court Ruling: Former Polish Interior Minister Brudziński Defamed ODF Without Factual Basis Seven years ago, @jbrudzinski, then Poland’s Minister of Internal Affairs, publicly accused me, @bartek_kramek , and the @ODFoundation of money laundering and ties to Russia and Kazakhstan. This was the same minister whose ministry oversaw the agencies that had deported me from the EU a year earlier, surveilled Bartosz, and conducted administrative proceedings against us. No charges were ever brought. But slander by a sitting interior minister carries weight. On 8 September 2026, the Warsaw Court of Appeal confirmed in a final, binding ruling that Brudziński’s post constituted a serious violation of our personal rights, was “decidedly offensive,” and had no factual basis. The court dismissed his appeal and ordered him to publish an apology and pay €3,500 (PLN 15,000) in compensation. Brudziński did not attend a single hearing over seven years. He responded to the first-instance verdict by publicly calling the judges “overheated.” He transferred the compensation. He has not published the apology; we have obtained an enforcement order. Since July 2017, 2,271 articles have been published about us, of which 1,560 repeated defamation messages. TVP, Polskie Radio, and pro-government media amplified these accusations, including in foreign-language editions, damaging our reputation abroad, our relationships with banks and donors. The final court ruling appeared in a handful of outlets. €3,500 for seven years and 1,560 defamatory publications. We won against Brudziński. We have won at least 12 personal rights cases, including against TVP, Polskie Radio, Krystyna Pawłowicz, Maciej Wąsik, Patryk Jaki, Witold Waszczykowski, Dominik Tarczyński, Tomasz Sakiewicz (twice), Wojciech Biedroń, and Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk. We have not lost a single one. The same disproven narratives continue to be recycled internationally, as part of transnational financial repression against us, including by @eureporter and by the so-called IEI: @IEI_ngo, an entity with no verifiable registration, staffed by former military intelligence and corporate investigation officers, drawing on the very same discredited allegations. We document every such publication. Each one is assessed by our legal team on the same basis that produced the 12 rulings above. But as of now, no verdict undoes the damage, and no verdict stops new defamatory content from being amplified on op-eds or generated by obscure AI-powered websites. This must change. A minister who oversaw my deportation publicly accused us of crimes and faced no real consequences; that cannot remain the standard. We will continue to use every ruling to build the legal and political case for reform and accountability: once a court has disproven a defamation claim, those who repeat it should bear the consequences.

IN JULY, ONE BUG IN ONE COMPANY'S FIRMWARE EMPTIED THOUSANDS OF BITCOIN WALLETS. MOST PEOPLE USING THAT SAME DEVICE INSIDE A MULTISIG LOST NOTHING. That's the whole case for multisig. One seed phrase, one device and one company's code is a single point of failure. Multisig takes it away. Here's how it works, and how to set one up without getting it wrong. What it is A normal wallet has one key, and whoever has it can spend. A 2-of-3 multisig has three keys, and it takes any two to move a single sat. A thief with one key gets nothing. Lose one key and you can still get in with the other two. The rule is built into the Bitcoin address itself, so nobody can override it. What you need Three hardware wallets, ideally from three different makers, so one company's bug can only ever touch one of your keys. A metal backup for each seed phrase. And free software to tie them together. Sparrow is a popular choice on Bitcoin. Setting it up 1. Set up each hardware wallet on its own, with a brand new seed. Never type a seed phrase into a computer or a phone. 2. In Sparrow, create a new wallet, choose multi signature and set it to 2 of 3. Add each device as one of the keys. 3. Sparrow gives you a wallet file. Save it and print it. More on why below. 4. Send in a small amount. Then send it back out, signing with two of the devices. If that works, the setup works. 5. Now the step almost everyone skips. Delete the wallet from Sparrow and rebuild it from the wallet file. Check the first receive address matches. Only then move your real savings. The wallet file This is the part that catches people out. To rebuild a multisig you need two of the seeds and the wallet file. Lose the file and you'll need all three keys to put it back together, which defeats the point. The file can't spend anything, so keep a copy with each key. But it shows every address and your full balance, so treat it as private. Don't email it, don't upload it. Where to keep the keys Three places, one key in each. For example, one at home, one with family or at the office, and one in a safe deposit box. Each place gets the device, its seed backup and a copy of the wallet file. Someone who gets into any one place gets one key, and one key isn't enough. The mistakes that cost people 2-of-2. It sounds safer, but lose either key and the coins are gone for good. All three devices from the same maker. Two keys in the same house. One fire or one break-in takes both. Letting a company hold enough keys to sign. If a company holds one, it should only ever be one. Never testing a recovery until the day you actually need it. What it costs The software is free. The real cost is three hardware wallets and three metal backups. Each spend costs a little more in fees than a normal wallet, because the transaction carries more signatures. Your family If something happened to you tomorrow, could your family get in? Write them a short letter. Say it's a 2-of-3 multisig, where each key is, which software to use and who they can ask for help. Never put a seed phrase in that letter. When you need it It isn't a dollar amount. Ask yourself one question. Would losing this change your life? If the answer is yes, one key is carrying too much. Hold your keys. Plural.

Even if I complain about @giacomozucco often because in many regards we're the opposite (also, I don't want him to think I'm interested 😁), these last months working together full time on @cypher_tank have been extremely beautiful and this is for me it's the most rewarding thing whatever the outcome. I love him as a husband but I also love him as a colleague. I'm lucky.

In Europe privacy is under threat and with it personal safety. Being compliant means accepting the risk of death. This is the outcome that DAC8 will bring about when, starting in September 2027, all European CASPs will be required to report the following customer data to tax authorities - full customer identity - crypto-asset types and transaction categories; - values, units, dates, transaction counts, and annual aggregates; DAC8 overturns the principle of innocence until proven guilty. Indiscriminate surveillance treats customers as guilty until proven innocent, undermining one of the fundamental principles of democracy itself. With such a massive amount of data in the hands of European bureaucratic authorities, what on earth could possibly go wrong? France is already an example: dozens of wrench attacks in recent months alone, putting hodlers’ lives in serious danger. From “Know Your Customer” to “Kill Your Customer". @BULLBITCOIN_ has decided to stand up. On February 24, 2026, we filed a summary petition with the French Conseil d’État against Decree No. 2025-1276 of December 19, 2025, and will use every legitimate avenue to suspend, delay, annul, or amend the harmful effects of DAC8. I’ll be speaking about this at BTC Balkans 2026. If you’re in Sofia on October 31 and November 1, you don't want to miss it. Together we fight.
🎤 Meet Federico Rivi @federico_rivi — one of the speakers at BTC Balkans 2026! Federico began his career in Italian mainstream media and later moved into PR at a financial firm. CHAT CONTROL 2.0 BLOCKED AGAIN, THANKS TO YOU! What happened yesterday: the @Europarl_EN blocked the deal pushed by the @EUCouncil. The Council wanted: (1) "voluntary" scanning of all private chats under "search plans" approved automatically unless an authority vetoes; (2) administrative authorities, not courts, ordering providers to scan private messages, not limited to suspects, using AI with massive false positive rates; (3) making the failed Chat Control 1.0 mass scanning regime permanent, while admitting it is not effective, as we discussed in my previous posts. Your voice to parliamentarians made a huge difference again: the Parliament refused scanning of private communications, stating it must remain limited to persons linked to child sexual abuse, not everyone by default or under a blanket licence, as Council proposed. The Parliament also closed the back door where "risk mitigation" rules could force providers into scanning under threat of fines. What did pass: a preliminary agreement on scanning publicly accessible content for known child abuse material. This was proposed by the Parliament as the effective, targeted alternative. We still wait for the text to see what this means and will inform you in the coming weeks. This defense proves again: our voice matters when it is vocal, with your support! And we will need it again in November, so please follow the updates. Now, it is important to call or write to your MEP and your government to say thank you to those who stand on the side of privacy. They need to see you are watching their move. Please repost.

STOP CHAT CONTROL 2.0. - What you should know: Tomorrow, 29 September, behind closed doors at the Council, the most draconian version of Chat Control 2.0 goes on the table. It is no longer only an intermediary reading all your private messages and cloud storage. It is a licence to search them for months, without suspicion against any individual. The leaked Presidency note to delegations (11956/26, 10 September) proposes "authorisation of search plans for a period of time rather than on a case-by-case basis" for private chats and emails. In plain terms: your messages, contacts, photos and cloud will be scanned under a state-issued licence for months, with no suspicion against you. The same note admits that under this regime "a high volume of reports generated do not lead to any operational outcome." The Council's Legal Service already warned this is general and indiscriminate surveillance, illegal under EU law. The @Europarl_EN mandate says the opposite: judicial authorisation, targeted to specific persons, no scanning licences. Tomorrow the pressure is on Parliament to fold. You remember the tricks used to push Chat Control 1.0 through and how @EPPGroup with @RobertaMetsola helped to push for it. So fasten your seat belt for what is coming tomorrow, and call or write to your MEP and your government now to reject Chat Control 2.0. as a whole! Remind them what this does to the privacy of every one of us. Under a search plan, every chat, photo or contact the scanner flags is stored by the provider and sent to a new EU agency, the EU Centre, which keeps it and passes it to police. Any state authority can then demand it, with a deadline and a fine for delay, and nobody has to check who is really behind the request, in case it is hacked or weaponised. That is exactly what happened at Revolut, and what keeps happening through abusive requests from authoritarian states, as we have reported for 13 years. In the Revolut case the hackers got access to a real state mailbox. Their requests came from an authentic certified email (PEC) account of an Italian Prefecture on the Interior Ministry's domain, with Postal Police protocol numbers, as European Investigation Orders in the name of the Milan prosecutor, for about five months. About 680 customers lost passports, selfies, home addresses, IBANs and full transaction histories. The files are being sold; hundreds of victims now fear kidnapping. No remedies exist as of now to protect against such attacks. Let's stop it before it is too late. Please repost.

Qui dobbiamo ragionare in termini binari: Il fattore tempo vs Il fattore rischio. (segue)

Important updates on @Revolut and what you can do: 1. According to the group now extorting Revolut, and to the Duel team in contact with them, the attackers took over Italian government and law enforcement mailboxes with an infostealer, sent Revolut Bank UAB in Lithuania a forged European Investigation Order (to attention of @Eurojust @Europol ) in the name of the Italian authorities, and kept sending requests for five months. 2. Revolut answered every one, as @FATFNews and EU AML laws require. Now scale this abuse a thousand times, in the hands of authoritarian states and their proxies, who do not seek attention like these hackers and quietly collect data on citizens and entities of the EU and other Western countries. 3. The attackers claim to hold 147 GB from the Italian side, including internal documents and officer chat logs, and say most of the Revolut data concerns customers in Switzerland, France and Hungary, with other countries affected. Passports and KYC selfies of named individuals are now being published daily until Revolut pays. We are collecting witness statements to push for remedies. If you are a legal or security expert and want to support our team, DM me. What you as an EU citizen can do today to limit these attacks in the future: 1. Contact your MEP on @EP_Economics, @EP_Legal or @EP_Justice and ask for an urgent joint hearing on the weaponisation of mass data collection and a reassessment of the whole approach, before the next leak names someone who does not have the means to move house. 2. Use this argument: every bank, exchange and payment provider in every jurisdiction that follows FATF rules, and the AML, financial and national security laws built on them, is exposed the same way, because the rules oblige them to answer state requests and nobody is required to check whether the state behind the request is who it claims to be. That is what human rights groups, victims and experts with support of @ODFoundation described to the European Parliament three years ago, proposing specific remedies. The @EU_Commission and the @EUCouncil removed every safeguard the @Europarl_EN adopted from the AML Regulation. 3. You want politicians care more about privacy and digital rights protection? Support and promote the MPs and MEPs who pushed for remedies. Demand accountability for rejected remedies by Commission and Council. This year the European Parliament, under @HNeumannMEP @petras_petras @NachoSAmor leadership , named this risk transnational financial repression in its resolution of 18 June 2026. @coe adopted Resolution 2669 on 25 June, rapporteur @constantinosefs , with @MarkusWiechel pushing specifically for an investigation into transnational financial repression and remedies against it. The @oscepa followed in The Hague in July, led by @emmedibi , with an even more detailed focus on exactly these attacks.

Today is the 10 year anniversary of the production release of @opentimestamps I created OpenTimestamps in a few weekends because I was frustrated that no-one else had created such an obvious and necessary tool. Since then it has become the global standard for secure timestamps: if you ask an LLM how to create a timestamp, it'll almost certainly suggest using OpenTimestamps. OpenTimestamps has grown to the point where everything from art, to forum posts, to software releases, to war crimes evidence is getting timestamped with OpenTimestamps. Along with some applications I won't be able to talk about for at least a few years... fortunately that data is timestamped! While I have no way of knowing for sure how many documents in total are getting timestamped per second – merkle trees – I can say that as of the past two weeks (beyond that I automatically delete logs) the public calendars I run have averaged about 5 timestamp requests per second from about 60,000 distinct IP addresses. I have no idea what all these people are using OpenTimestamps for. But clearly it's getting fairly popular! Thanks goes out to @realSimpleProof, $TIME, and all the people who have donated directly to the public calendars for their support. OpenTimestamps costs a few hundred a month to run now, along with my time. Without your help keeping OpenTimestamps running would be a lot more painful. If you want to donate, you can do so right here: alice.btc.calendar.opentimes… Thanks also goes to @RCasatta and @BULLBITCOIN_ for running two of the four public calendars. They're one of the reasons why OpenTimestamps doesn't have a single point of failure. Finally, thanks goes to the many people who have contributed code to OpenTimestamps over the years, including entire libraries in languages like java and JavaScript that I have no experience with. In fact, the majority of OpenTimestamps clients are quite possibly using code I didn't write at all! petertodd.org/2016/opentimes…
