Sappy post incoming 💜 Thank you all for your wonderful comments and support on the post about my dad last week. This post is a follow up to that one. In spite of spending so much time in LA, I have never been to the Hollywood Walk of Fame or Chinese Theatre. I really wanted to save the experience for the day I walked the red carpet. At the same time, it would have been a great regret of mine if I died without seeing it. But that was the risk I took. It was worth the wait. It meant to much to me to look at the hand and foot prints I had only seen in pictures. To stand under the iconic archway. To be invited in because I belonged. I will forever cherish every moment of this day and the wonderful people I spent it with. When I was a kid, I had promised my dad I would walk the carpet with him. I did not cry. I did enough of that writing the first post. Instead I was filled with joy and peace. I do want to clarify that my father has not passed, but he does have severe dementia and is in extremely poor health and can't go anywhere without assistance. He also doesn't recognize me as an adult. That's why my post that I don't think he'll read, but if he does, is full of pictures of myself as a child. He remembers my younger years. I felt him in my heart the whole time though and kept him with me. Thank you Knights of Guinevere and ALL associated for making this dream come true.

Hey, hi. This is my student, Fei, in a class that I teach on audition strategy for fighting games. It seems as though the comments have already sufficiently defended the art of voice acting as a whole but I'd like to chime in and commend Fei for her bravery in documenting her educational journey. Art education by nature is messy and takes time. I've had the joy of being a part of Fei's journey for two years. Showcasing one's learning process as one is learning is NOT the same as showcasing a fully finished production. On her insta, Fei is giving the world a gift by showcasing what an actor does to push themselves out of their comfort zone and grow to new heights. She is inviting people to come on her journey AND inspiring others to start their own. Perhaps you, Mr. Mittens, can take this as an opportunity to feed your own growth and follow your heart's passion with as much joy and bravery as Fei. And yes, voice acting is cringe. The most successful of us are cringemaxxing. 😘
