And in other news, an old man gets to tell a dead woman whats best for her, but hes a "hisToriAn"
so its ok and therefore actually means hes being super progressive and caring.
I thought women who were ALIVE didnt want to be told what to do by men, now even after they`ve DIED they can still be told whats best for them.

Ha. What load of rubbish and you know it. It’s a black spiritual sung in changing rooms and bars…sung for decades with innuendo and hand movements. Crowd used to sing Jerusalem and Land of Hope and Glory

All these people and their stupid diagnosis. Most of my friends would actually be considered neurodivergent by these standards ADHD, ADD, Asperger’s, Autistic etc. But it also makes many of them honest, outspoken, and not afraid of caring what anyone thinks of them

hearing for the first time that novelist Patrick O'Brian (of _Master & Commander_ fame) invented much of his own biography,
didn't know how to sail & had no practical experience doing it, wasn't Anglo-Irish gentry but rather English working class, barely educated, concealed his early marriage...
Everything he learned about sailing & the 19th c was from obsessive research & reading books.
O'Brian comes out to be a far more puzzling, eccentric, twisted, anachronistic figure who lived in isolation on a small hobby farm in France, deeply secretive, insecure, brooding, exiled, aloof, yet TOTALLY COMMITTED TO THE BIT.
I like him even more now (am currently reading Master & Commander)

Back in August, I wrote in @Telegraph that "La Belle France could edge Britain in the bond market ugly contest".
Despite the UK's ongoing fiscal incontinence since the summer, that prediction could yet come true.
But if the French sovereign bond market does blow up before Britain's, it will be "no time for schadenfreude - or joie maligne as they say in France".
Because a market implosion in Paris would almost certainly quickly spread to London.

“The gentleness of the English civilisation is perhaps its most marked characteristic… It is a land where bus conductors are good-tempered and policemen carry no revolvers. In no country inhabited by white men is it easier to shove people off the pavement.”

The one thing we know is never accuse your opponents of being a weak side. It is like accusing your geographical neighbour of lacking haddock. Most cricketing opposition have twenty-two arms and legs, and nothing is decided until it is decided.

Still one of the craziest things ever seen in cricket 🔥
Kevin Pietersen just sticks a blindfold on and faces a bowling machine at full pace, Can’t see the ball at all, only hears the machine. Then he starts belting massive sixes like it’s nothing 💪 even plays a switch-hit while blindfolded. One of them went straight through a window 😂
@KP24 be honest, Was the really blindfold actually proper and you couldn’t see a thing, or could you still peek a bit through it? 🤨

🚨: Engineers just proposed a 36 mile long spacecraft called 'Chrysalis' that could carry 2400 people to Alpha Centauri, just 4 light-years away from us, on one way trip. The journey will take 400 years!
The passengers who board it will never see Earth again. Neither will their children. Or their grandchildren.

You could capture quite a few cyclists with a net cannon, and then release them safely somewhere else.
(Minus the bikes).
Cyclists are continuing to ride along the newly pedestrianised section of Oxford Street, despite being asked to dismount.
Around seven security staff have been stationed near Oxford Circus, calling out to cyclists to get off their bikes, with mixed success.
