1/ Rajaa Samour, a Gaza resident and father of four who had worked in Israel with a valid permit, was arrested after October 7 and died in Israeli military custody under circumstances that have not been discovered.
Following a prolonged legal battle by Gisha, the state acknowledged that he had initially been mistakenly classified as an “unlawful combatant” and that his case was marred by a series of failures. Despite this, the authorities held his body for nearly three years before finally returning it for burial.

BREAKING: Taybeh, the last entirely Palestinian Christian village in the West Bank, is under a complete blockade by Israeli forces: no one allowed in or out.
I spoke with a resident of Taybeh who described the impact of the movement restrictions:
"You can’t plan your day. Checkpoints close suddenly and you get stuck and delayed and your day gets messed up. It’s frustrating, it wastes you time, you get emotionally and physically drained.
What bothers me the most is you’re no longer in control of your life becasue you’re no longer in control of your time, your route or your plans.
You start working out your day according to the closures, change appointments, cancel and postpone things you have to get done.
They control your movement, so they control you."

B’Tselem urgently calls on governments and international institutions to act now, using all means available under international law, to prevent the forcible displacement of Palestinian civilians, collective punishment and extensive unlawful destruction in Hebron. Israeli leaders are openly declaring their intentions, and actions on the ground have already begun.
Following the shooting near Hebron on 23 October, in which two Israeli soldiers were killed, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz openly announced plans to forcibly displace Palestinian residents and carry out extensive destruction in the area.
In a statement, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared: “We will apply in the cities the successful offensive model we implemented in the refugee camps.”
That same model has already displaced more than 33,000 Palestinians in the northern West Bank. Now, Israeli leaders are threatening to bring the same mass displacement and destruction to Hebron.
Implementation has already begun. Israeli forces imposed a cordon on Hebron and Halhul, while the Civil Administration began demolishing Palestinian structures in the neighborhood of Farsh al-Hawa. At the same time, Minister Bezalel Smotrich announced the establishment of four new settlement farming outposts in the South Hebron Hills.
Israeli leaders are openly announcing plans for collective punishment and acts that could constitute war crimes. These plans echo Israel’s devastating operations as part of the genocide in Gaza and mark a further escalation of its ongoing campaign of ethnic cleansing as part of the Elimination Project in the West Bank: the systematic dismantling of Palestinian collective life while expanding settlements and entrenching permanent Israeli control.
The world cannot stand by as Israel continues its assault on Palestinians, waiting for yet more neighborhoods to be emptied and erased before intervening, despite what we have already witnessed in Gaza and the northern West Bank. Governments and international bodies must act now to prevent these crimes and protect Palestinian civilians.

Vehicular access to Bethlehem has been effectively paralyzed. Only the DCO checkpoint remains open, but traffic is at a standstill.
Residents fear that the closures may remain until after the Israeli elections.

This is not impartiality. This is anti-Palestinian racism:

“Have you spoken to any Palestinian organizations before you wrote your letter?”
@ShehabKhan presses Labour MP Mike Tapp who reported the Green Party over its Zionism motion about whether he’s ever spoken to any Palestinians.
Tapp: “I don’t know any Palestinian people.”
It is vitally important to listen to Jewish parents, when relaying their children's experiences, and of course the voices of Jewish pupils when they relay experiences of antisemitism.
The examples provided by @stevenmklein in his small thread include:
- His daughter being repeatedly asked by other children if she supports Israel.
- A friend of his daughter being beaten up by other school children because she wore a Star of David.
- A head teacher being initially unwilling to give student leave of absence for Yom Kippur
- The school wishing them a Happy Channukah for Yom Kippur
- No education about Judaism being taught in classes (even the Religious Education class)
- No event or assembly commemorating the Holocaust.
None of these are even remotely excusable.
Jewish children being asked if they support Israel simply because they are Jewish is a very real and serious phenomenon. This is NOT helped by the nonstop conflation of Jews and Israel by various Israel advocacy organisations, and even our own government. The answer to this particular point is to education pupils on antisemitism and to also ensure they recognise that Jews ≠ Israel.
Conflating Jewish people globally with the actions, policies, and existence of the State of Israel is a dangerous mechanism that fuels antisemitism. Requiring individual Jews to constantly account for or answer for Israel's military and government actions, creates a hostile environment. The resultant lack of empathy and solidarity can leave Jewish individuals feeling isolated. We must stop telling young people that the State of Israel and Zionism are irrevocably tied to being Jewish. The nuance/caveat here of course is that there is a HUGE difference between acknowledging and teaching about the special place that Jerusalem and Israel both hold within Judaism vs promoting political and emotional attachment to the State of Israel in the modern era.
Furthermore, treating all Jews as a monolith representing Israel prevents pupils and students from building deep, empathetic connections across cultural and ethnic boundaries. This in turn discourages students who want to express support for Palestinians from engaging with, and learning about, the specific, devastating, and lethal history of anti-Jewish oppression.
Our education system in the United Kingdom must purposefully separate the actions of the Israeli state from the diverse global population of Jewish individuals. If we can teach pupils throughout the country that it is unacceptable and antisemitic to hold their Jewish peers responsible for the State of Israel, ensuring that they engage constructively with the topics of antisemitism and Israel-Palestine, then we will see less of this conflation happening in UK schools up and down the country.
A pupil being beaten up for wearing the Star of David is blatant antisemitism that must be addressed through disciplinary processes but also with robust education.
The other examples provided by Steven Klein are worrying but they are not of the same vein as the former points because they are not necessarily about the immediate safety and physical security of Jewish pupils. They are nonetheless significant issues that must be addressed through proper training and information provision through the department of education.

Dave:
You argue that describing Israel's war on children incites antisemitic terrorism.
30% of those killed by Israel in Gaza are kids.
That's at least 21,000 kids.
The UN independent commission concluded Israel deliberately targets kids.
Fun fact, the former Education Secretary, Bridget Phillipson, who is known for her support & involvement in Labour Friends of Israel, was pipping Sir David Bell for educational reviews back when she was the Shadow Education Minister in 2023.
In her role as Education Secretary she is the one responsible for commissioning Sir David Bell to carry out this antisemitism review in schools.
