A few days ago, Dr. Von Batten received unsolicited offers of $3 million, along with an invitation to a confidential meeting in London, from a highly placed individual whom we have been informed is connected to Nigerian President Bola Tinubu (@officialABAT). We believe these offers were an attempt to persuade Dr. Von Batten to end our campaign concerning President #Tinubu’s alleged heroin-trafficking records.
Dr. Von Batten refused the offers, immediately preserved copies of the exchanges, and contacted members of former Nigerian Vice President @atiku’s campaign to determine the nature of the individual’s relationship with President #Tinubu. Shortly after the refusals, a smear campaign against Dr. Von Batten began. We will be providing the $3 million offer and related communications to the our friends at @TheJusticeDept and @FBI to protect our reputation and allow the appropriate authorities to review the matter.
We have a simple message for President Bola #Tinubu, the @OfficialAPCNg, and their associates: Thank you for the offer, but no thanks.

NUPRC Sends Update to Upstream Oil and Gas Operators On Helicopter Levy
The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) has issued an update to upstream petroleum operators, licensees and lessees clarifying the application of the US$300 Helicopter Levy for Air Navigational Services.
In a circular signed by the Commission Chief Executive, Mrs. Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan, the NUPRC
confirmed that the $300 helicopter levy remains payable to the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), while the Terminal Navigational Charge (TNC) does not apply to helicopter landings at private offshore facilities and platforms.
The review follows concerns raised by the Commission on behalf of upstream stakeholders over the introduction, structure and operationalisation of the levy, which prompted the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo (SAN), to constitute a Ministerial Review Committee on 9 March 2026.
Based on the review, the Terminal Navigational Charge (TNC) remains applicable to helicopter operations that are not undertaken in support of upstream petroleum operations, including medical evacuation, private charter and agricultural operations.

NUPRC Raises the Alarm Over Recruitment Scam
The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) wishes to inform the general public about the proliferation of fake and AI generated employment letters bearing the names of persons unknown to the Commission.
Reports reaching the NUPRC also suggest that some unscrupulous and criminal elements have been extorting money from unsuspecting members of the public under the pretext of helping them to secure employment at the Commission.
While the NUPRC has reported the activities of these criminal elements to law enforcement agencies and awaits an outcome of investigation, members of the public are advised to be circumspect so they don’t fall victim.
The NUPRC states categorically that there is no ongoing recruitment exercise at the Commission. However, when the Commission does decide to recruit, it will be done strictly in line with the extant laws and government regulations.
