Walking around Chinatown in Sydney, it's pretty obvious that if Melbourne wanted to start trialling pedestrianisation of more streets, Little Bourke between Swanston and Exhibition would be perfect and would really open up the district.

A major axis in Lyon, rue Garibaldi was built in the 1960s as an eight-lane urban highway to facilitate car traffic in the center.
In 2010, it began a metamorphasis into a lush and leafy multi-modal corridor, with dedicated bus and cycle lanes, and space for walking and seating. – at Lyon, France

My piece in @BrunswickVoice on how opposing safe streets is class warfare against marginalised communities - elderly ppl, kids, ppl with disabilities and trans and non-binary ppl.
Their bodies are sacrificed for the convenience of a few drivers 👇
