Checking on the progress of Aboo Road, Forest Cell. So far, the work is looking good. After opening the road, it is given time to settle before shaping and compaction begin.
This stage also involves creating drainage lines & smoothing the road to ensure easy and safe movement.
Today, I addressed an Alternative Dispute Resolution meeting called by the IGG and the RCC of Gulu City. We discussed the concerns around cattle restocking involving some LCs and Town Agents.
Let’s choose dialogue over conflict and look for solutions that bring us together.
The team from Ruparelia Foundation, who were in Gulu City for the races, approached me with an idea of doing charity work on Independence Day.
When they asked what we could do, I suggested that we dedicate this time to supporting persons with disabilities. In the future, we can extend the same support to other groups in our community.
I spent my Independence Day opening of Okidi Dakamoi Road, popularly known as Gyda Road, to the launch of a charity initiative supporting persons with disabilities in Gulu City and finally, flagging off the racers.
Independence is also about the freedom to care for one another, uplift those who need support, and build a community where everyone feels seen, valued, and included.
Amaro wu matek, Lungolo.
