Reach out to your MP today if you haven't already. Ask them to find out how this Bill will work for you and raise concerns at the Second Reading. You can find more information on how to do this and a template for contacting your MP here endourcladdingscandal.org/po…

Grateful to my MP @kevinbonavia for meeting today to discuss the Second Reading of the Remediation Bill tomorrow. It will be an interesting watch for leaseholders seeking to understand more about whether this Bill with help free them from the building safety crisis.

"The problem came to light during work to prepare building safety cases for the development, when structural engineers raised concerns after reviewing drawings. A site inspection on 21 October confirmed them." #BuildingSafetyCrisis

No doubt there will now be prolonged finger pointing between developer, managing agent and building control whilst residents remain displaced, and potentially homeless. Still, at least we’ll have help to buy back soon!

Calum can't sell his flat. An offer £75k below what he paid fell through. Cladding issues and high service charges are factors. This is the human cost of the building safety crisis. Lives on hold. Choices taken away. Will Labour get a grip or keep kicking the can down the road?

"The property, built around 20 years ago, has issues with cladding (...) It also has relatively high charges, with Calum’s service costs, ground rent and other fees totalling over £4,000 a year."

Very worrying. And it’s not the first time blocks of flats have had to be decanted due to structural safety concerns. The building safety crisis is about far more than cladding and fire safety. @TomCopley, how many Londoners are affected?

And they wonder why the market collapsed. Cladding Latent defects And, as engineers review their designs against the accepted norm of the last 25 yrs - structural issues: was the design compliant at build. If it was, is that still good enough? I’m in this situation. A shitshow.

60 years since Aberfan. 116 children and 28 adults whose lives should never have been taken. We stand with the bereaved families, survivors and the whole Aberfan community today as they honour their loved ones and mark 60 years of unimaginable loss.

Many buildings weren't built correctly in the first place. Why are any innocent leaseholders paying for any historic fire safety defects? The latest Bill proposed by @AngelaRayner and @mhclg doesn't go far enough to help #endourcladdingscandal. 👇🏼 @LBC interview with @AliMirajUK

'Residents are among thousands bearing the cost of delays by the building safety regulator to approve works required by post-Grenfell building safety rules' ^^ not entirely correct. Post-Grenfell safety rules is half the story. Lots weren't built correctly in the first place.

Last month I reported that unsafe cladding remains in ten high-rise residential buildings in Cambridgeshire. An FOI request has now revealed where they are - with one directly attached to Cambridge Fire Station. Read below ✍️ cambridge-news.co.uk/news/ca…
