Can I venture that RĂłisĂn Murphy career is not going very well, and she hopes racism will revive it?

"I actually laughed because it was so ludicrous."
Rosamund Urwin, who led The Sunday Times's four-year investigation into allegations against the comedian Russell Brand, says his defence's claim of contempt of court when she published her article was not well founded.

In the runup to the election, I was part of a group of Jewish Democrats in Michigan who had to make a choice. Passions were running high, arguments ensued, but at the end of the day, we decided to support @AbdulElSayed
The response on this platform was immediate, but in too many cases, it was filled with vile, Islamophobic responses. I was called a Nazi and (ironically), a Jew-hater.
So instead of lashing out, I invite you to watch this two-minute video posted by @peterdaou After watching it if you can't at least understand that Abdul is a smart, considerate human and not a terrorist, then I can't help you. But I hope you are open-minded enough to see what we see.
I'm glad this awful election is over, but I'm just as glad to embrace a better future with Abdul in the Senate.

I've been in politics for a quarter century. It's hard to express how staggering it is to see a conversation like this on corporate US media. The Morning Joe panel gobsmacked by the directness of @AbdulElSayed's points.

The father of the 20-year-old co-pilot who died along with eight others when their Learjet crashed in Florida said Friday he has listened to his daughter’s final radio transmissions “many times” since the crash.
Allan Filgueiras, himself a pilot, was searching for answers as to why the plane plunged from the sky on Sunday — but what he found was pride in how his daughter, Nathalia Gadelha Filgueiras, handled the crisis.

It’s not just the courts. Global/LBC placed these restrictions - that exist forever - into my employment contract. Silencing women who want to speak out about their experiences is a game powerful men (and some women) have enjoyed for years. The Global/LBC’s lawyers also have ethical questions to answer.
Replying to @DanNeidle
How could lawyers justify asking a court to prohibit speech that couldn't conceivably constitute harassment - including private conversations with friends and family, and reports to the police?

On Thursday I wrote about the 2014 injunction Russell Brand obtained against a woman who accused him of assault.
I've now obtained the final order. It's breathtaking.
She had no lawyer. No trial. Yet she was silenced for life - even barred from speaking to the police.

Ros Urwin emerging a total hero here as are Times and Sunday Times.
The behaviour of Ian Winter KC delivering foul mouthed abuse at @RosamundUrwin at the end of the Russell Brand trial was revolting & wholly reprehensible.
I have written to his chambers & to @thebarcouncil urging them to act.
Others should do so.

After witnessing the bravery of the women at the Russell Brand trial - and seeing what the cross examination was like - wanted to repost this from 2023 about why women might decide not to report rape
I don’t know what happened with Russell Brand. He denies criminality.
Â
But I DO understand why women might not report rape to the police
My take on tonight’s #PoliticsHub 👇
It’s easy to understand why Russell Brand went for a doctrine that believes
everybody is a sinner in need of grace.
His biggest apologists are going to be Christians who blame Eve for everything.

Today’s Russell Brand’s conviction reminded me of one of the most powerful monologues by @SophyRidgeSky at politics hub. It was worth a watch then, and it’s definitely worth a watch now..
